i wanna get after market rims i have the gts so there r 18'' rims on there now... i was thinkin of puttin 20's on there with 225/35r20 tire ...do u think ill have a problem ...or will i be fine,i heard the evo x is comming with stock 20's ,so i figured they would probb fit on our car to....
20's are cool but do remeber that they r heavy and to do it right u may wanna look into bigger brakes. The Evo comes with bigger brakes so it is fine. The GTS is only front wheel drive so there are few cool wheels to choose from in 20's for front wheel drive. Your offset is gonna have to be like 48+ and you will need to check clearance with the inside lip clearing the the suspension and or strut especially when you turn.
thats the size I am running. Im not a racer/drifter/tuner, I just appreciate the nice lines of the Lancer and I like em low to the ground with big wheels. However, you really need to just build to suit ur likes.
im the same way i just want some nice big rims, what did u do about the tire sensors when u changed the rims
^you have to be original,do what ever make you feel happy, but with 20''on there will be only for show off, good luck
yeah but in 20's it gets tough cuz the rim gets wider and then when u get the right offset, then u have to worry about all that width being tucked in closer to ur suspension. which can cause problems when u turn or hitting the spring cup at all times.
regardless of the size of rims you put on, you have to have the sensors recalibrated at the dealer, it takes about an hour worth of labour. i didnt bother with it, it just dings when i turn the car on...up to you though.
kinkbmxryder has said it was just an even swap from one car to the other, I saw it and the sensor light did not go on.
well then i couldnt tell ya. i put aftermarket rims on mine and the sensors have to be recalibrated. maybe he had the swap done at the dealer. I had mine done at a specialty tire place.
