im thinking about lowering my 09 lancer which is all stock right now would i need to do nething else to it if i just only get the lowering springs and have then put on professionally?
i would recommend changing ur shocks and struts as well, u DONT have to but as gas shocks r way better then the fluid filled oem ones. oh and after u lower ur vehicle get ur allignment done ASAP or your car will start eating up the tires.
They recomend to wait one week before doing an alignment so your springs can settle. I say go with coilovers and do it right.
From my experience, coilovers are no bueno for daily drivers. Anything lower than a 1.5 drop, i would suggest a camber kit as well
coil overs are they way to go if you have the money, but just lowering springs are great if your on a budget, nobody will be able to look at your car and tell anyways
Get the Coilovers or Springs installed professionally and then after about 500 miles get your alignment done check out our site for a huge selection of springs and coilovers, we also offer LancerTuner discounts!
wat i hear coilovers r way stiffer since they r built to perfom on the track...depends on driver prefernce i suppose on how stiff u want it...im jus goin by wat i hear tho i never was in a ride wit coilovers
Depends of what kind of drop you are looking for. If you drop your Lancer below 1.5"you should get a camber kit. There are plenty of springs out there that will give you a conservative drop and you wont have to get camber kit. Eibach, H&R, Progress and RRM Grips have conservative drops. For a more aggressive drop you can go with Teins. If this is your daily driver i would not recommend coils they are great if your planning on taking your Lancer to the track, if not springs are fine and over time you can replace your struts and shocks if you want to take it that far there really wont be a rush to do so. Just remember the ride is going to be a bit more rough and you might get some wheel hop. Just like Hipowermtrsprts stated just make sure to get alignment so you wont kill your tires.\ RRM GRIPS http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=75 H&R Sport Springs http://customizemyevo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148_152_150&products_id=425 Progress Sport Spring Kit http://customizemyevo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148_152_150&products_id=430 Eibach Sportline http://customizemyevo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148_152_150&products_id=431 Tein S.Tech http://customizemyevo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148_152_150&products_id=424
I have the Eibach Pro-Kit actually and I'm about to get it installed this coming weekend. I've heard many different things but I know for a fact that you need to let the springs settle before you alignment the car. Also, if your planning on getting rims and low profile tires make sure you get a kit that only drops the car .5" - 1.0" because the rims / tire combo will drop it even more.
Ah ok, then definitely over a 1.0" - 1.5" drop .. once it's done ride on it for about 500 - 600 miles and then take it in for a full alignment. Speaking of which I need to get mine done asap ..
i got the Eibach kit that lowers the front 1.2 and the back .8 or 9 whatever it is. I got my alignment done 1,000 miles after. I have had the kit on for about a year in June. my car was making funny noises when turning about a month ago and still does. i brought it to the dealer ship, 1 they said my warrenty is viod, 2 they said my struts were blown in the front and the back ones will go. now this really sucks. And they said the springs are too short so they spin on the strut in the front of my car. if i had to do it all over again, i wud get the coilovers and did it right, becouse that way u no ur not going to have any problems but its too late for that for me lol
