i had it installed on my 03 OZ. i had nothing but problems, and personally i don't think it's worth the money. If you can, get ECU flash instead

    would mitubishi do that?
or would i have to go a performance shop?
how much does that usually cost?

well ECU flash is a free program that you can download. Then you need to buy a cable from www.tactrix.com
it cost $90, and that will hook a laptop up to the cars ECU and let you retune it, and change other settings too.

It only works for certain years, what year lancer do you have?

Also it is pretty complicated and not something anyone can mess with. So i would recommend you take it to a tunning shop to have it done.

Basically you would end up spending about $300 or less to have your car retuned, and that would be without hacking at your ECU wires or having idle issues, which usually come with a piggyback

I was actually talking with John at the dealership today and Homie anything bolt on is fine but as soon as you change the fuel settings or modify the internals in anyway you void your 2008 warranty. He basically said once they have no control over the fuel distribution or anything internal they wont and dont touch it. Unless he says if you wish to void it they would do it lol.So be careful with that 2008. Hey and it only cost me 51 bucks for my first 12000 sweet.

Yes, its worth it. Until we get cams, pnp heads, ect. For basic boltons that we have, its awesome. You will make your money back in the increase gas milage alone.

while i can't say right at this moment what my gas milage will be, i feel a slight power increase from having my RRM piggyback installed.

I have a 5 speed and it's only noticeable as you climb up the powerband. it's not like there's crazy torque coming from this thing, but there IS a pull to it that was not there before.

I got this primarily for gas saving. Shouldn't be too long now before this pays for itself. ill post later letting you know how the gas consumption is coming along.

It has proven power and mileage gains. It was dynoed and showed 6-8 ft lbs of torque gained. Customers are saying it too. As for Crypto, sorry that didn't work out for you. You are quick to jump on an opinion for 08 Lancer Piggy which you do not have. Maybe Crypto is not a good one to listen to. Serious at least has one on his 08. Now that Crypto is working with Speed Corps, I doubt he will ever say he liked any of our stuff again. Just my 2 cents..... Just want to make sure everyone know the hidden agenda of members. We all know my agenda, sell you guys a bunch of stuff but it helps for members to know the hidden agendas of members that are not vendors but working with them. Just my 4 cents. Now we all know who the players are!

Rock, you know I love the piggy. With it on, the car pulls so much better. I'm not saying that it doesn't show hp numbers. I'm just saying that you will see the gains more in the tq and mpg.

I still think its one of the best mods out for the 08.

not to take this to off topic, but i feel i gotta respond to this. Firstly i specified that i had one on my 03 OZ, and i gave my opinion on that piggy. Not the 08 version, although i assume it is very similar to the V2 for the old lancers. But i could be wrong, which is why i didn't try to give opinion on the 08 version

Secondly, just because i work for Speed Corps now doesn't mean i will be bashing your products for the hell of it. I still have a lot of respect for RRM as a company and you guys have some great products, your turbo kits are still the best around (for now ;) ) and you still produce great suspension parts

Don't jump to conclusions just because i speak negatively about 1 of your products

Also me and John (the owner of Speed Corps) have no "hidden" agenda's. In fact if you go read on EvoM about the people we are working with, you will see how happy our customers are.
Our one and only goal is to give customers the best parts for the lowest price.

Well I have the RRM Piggyback and am extremely happy with it. I drive 150 miles a day to and from school and in just mpg alone I have almost made all my money back. Plus I got tq and hp as a bonus while saving money at the pumps. Just because a 2003 Lancer version didn't work for you doesn't mean the 08 version is a bad buy. Plus the Piggyback is proven and out now.

crypto never did say it was a bad buy he just gave a different way to do it without tampering with wires. He also said that the version he had didnt work with his 2003 OZ. Oh by the way this is my opinion every vendor wants to make money thats their business, as long as it is all done professionally and honestly it should not be an issue.

the old lancers have a 4694 i think? since the 4b11 is a different motor the piggy will react different to the piggy than the old motor, i mean our motor has the mivec and dohc so u would think by tuning it that u could get more power than the old sohc no mivec motor? just my thoughts.

Well here's the problem. Noone has been able to hack the ECU yet. It has a CANBUS protocol I believe the guy I know from Mitsu said and they haven't even been able to hack it yet and have been asking some local shops in Southern Cali if they have nay way to go about it. That's why Works has been working on it for a good while now and has yet to do it. So a flash of the ECU right now is not even an option. They were saying that if someone was really goods at the programing it would still probably take 12 to 15 months to crack.
