I just really bought a brand spanking new 2010 Lancer GTS and it has the standard 170hp with the CVT transmission. I wanted to know if it is possible to do work to it and also can you race with it while putting it into the CVT mode? I really would like some help with this. I am only 20. Also what would you recommend me start with in terms of Aftermarket Performance Parts, I don't want to do anything Cosmetic. The last question I have is, while I am in CVT or "Manual" Mode when is it appropriate to shift? I mean when I am in 1st I rev to 3,000rpm then kick it to 2nd then 3,000rpm then 3rd, and etc. etc. But please help me. Thanks So Much....
If you have to ask if you can race with it, and how to race with it, its usually a good indicator that YOU shouldn't race with it. However, you can do whatever you want with it, race it or don't.
You are not gonna win any drag races with this car... Autocross on the other hand, if you get the right mods, and learn how to drive such courses. And it's not as easy as it seems.
with enough money and parts you can race with it just nothing like serious but around town or like the local meet up spots you can do ok if its not off the line and you have some mods on the baby
You can race with any car. doesn't mean it is safe. cvt transmission and all... just mean less shifting Do normal upgrades... intake exhaust ect ect.. see where it leads you
*LANCERTUNERS.COM does not condone any type of ILLEGAL street racing!!!* Dont be a 'tard and race on a legal drag strip
you only go to 3,000rpm? Well, while just driving on the street around town I usually shift around 4,000rpm. Racing (at a track) redline. I didnt know cvt has manual mode. I had a manual gts.
Why would u race a cvt lancer?? I don't understand @ all. If you want real control and power manual all the way. Can't say how to mod.. I just brought my lancer and I'm looking into modding it myself, not to race just because I like to get up and go
^ i agree if you had any indication you wanted to race you should of gotten the regular M/T with the CVT theirs a lag when shifting ie loss of power/forward motion. but good luck and be safe!
mods! 1.RRM..timing control box 2.RRM..piggy back cvt 3.RRM..exhaust 4.RRM..short ram intake 5. this will help your car so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
