I really want to black out my tail lights.. but I'm afraid if I get them apart, I won't be able to put them back together. Has anybody painted theirs or taken it apart? If so how easy is the masking and putting it back together. My friend suggested RTB Gasket but I don't know how well it will hold. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.
Thanks for the info. Probably should have searched around first :S In his write up he said he used a dremel.. do you think you could bake them apart? It just seems like it would be easier to bake them rather than trying to dremel all the way around.
NOOOOOOOOO! The tail lights will melt unlike headlights. Also, if your trying to make them look like Ralliart tails, it can't be done because you have a red lense cover. So no matter what the inside looks like, they always look red.
Lol okay I'm not cooking them don't worry. Well looks like it's either buying RA tails or the new ACI LED ones. Can't decide if I really like the ACI ones though..
Yeah I'm not sure about night shades. From what I hear it doesn't last too long and starts to look bad. I need to stop doing cheap mods too lol. Time to save up some money and actually get stuff done to my car.
What kind of plastic are the taillights made of? I know the front are Polycarbonate, which is strong against impacts, etc. Need info on the tails if you know.. i've googled and searched. Still no luck. BTW, there's a lady over at EvoM who's mod'ing her tails to have CF inside. Just look up in evox section 'spoolme'.
Carbon Fiber would be pretty cool but only if you were doing it all around or at least some accenting. I plan on getting an Evo some day wayyy in the future so I'd like to keep my car able to go back to stock. Looks like no cutting open my tail lights for me. Probably getting the RA tails either around christmas or the end of the school year once I have a job lol.
Just curious where are you guys ordering all these LED headlights/tail lights from? I'm having a hard time finding a decent place with decent prices. I've trolled enough forums to know I can get halo projectors and LED tail lights all blacked out for less than $400 USD. So far all I have been able to find is $400 for the headlights alone.
Most people get their tail lights from AutoCityImports.com and as for projectors or anything, only thing I know to do is to get a set off an Evo X.
