wow our car are not worth crap, it's hopeless! you sold yours for 8000$
checked a couple days ago to change mine, was offered a (they say at the dealership) good amount at 12.5k, i paid 26 800$ 2 years ago for that car, its more than 50% depreciation in 2 years. I had an older benz (1989 190e) before the lancer i sold it for 7000$ it took less than 10 hours to have 3 potential buyer and one who bought it. sold a cavalier (yes a chevrolet cavalier) before the benz for 4500$ it was a '96 auto with 220 000 kms.

taking that into account i would have been better of getting a like 1995 to 2000 mercedes-benz or chevrolet benz was worth 42 500$ new in 1989 taking in account the date i sold it and the date it was bought in 1989 i have a 1972$ depreciation per year (18 years)

cavalier let say 20k when new car was 10 years old when i sold it so it comes around 1300$ loss a year

the lancer 26800 2 years 6700$ loss a year

nope ur not wrong, i did the same as you :S got mine 2 years ago now its worth nothing. Its because the american cars are worth nothing , u can get a farily new cobalt for 8999$ so who wants to pay 15000$ for a lancer of the same year? Im just gonna keep my lancer until im doine paying it off, if it is still good at that point ill keep it as a second set of wheels.
