anyone made a custom intake?....that works..

    ive only seen one case where someone made a custom intake and it worked for this car, and it was made out of an intake made for a mazda i believe, but i still really dont know if that even worked...i was just going by the guys word...soo if ANYONE has made a custom intake or knows some one who did or really anything pertaining to the subject id like to hear it, ive tried it myself and it just isnt working lol...i really dont want to have to break down and buy the rrm intake because i know i can make one for less so yea help is appreciated...thanks

    There is a guy here who made a custom one, his user name is 5th. It turned out pretty nice too. I am planning to make one myself if K&N doesnt get their intake done soon :x

    yea i saw that thread i actually posted in it i believe...but hey if you can build something like that go for it, it looks like a pretty good idea...all except for when its raining...that might cause probs...

    hey Subawho where or did you find that ram air system ive tried but to no avail, and let me tell you a have quite a few hours to blow on ship. So if you could hit up a link to where someone could get one please do.

    The only time an intake has problems with rain is when you have it submerged or getting a splash of water large enough to engluf it. That design wouldnt have any problems.

    Well, if K&N go through with their intake, I will get one for free...so that is top priority. If they dont have anything ready by December I think I will start designing one. Ill let you know what I do

    Sorry willie I just saw your post for the first time. I found that picture on a classified ad for rally parts. I have no idea where you would get one and so if go that route I will be making one from scratch. Most likely I will be using parts from our stock air system and just throw out the huge box, and make a wider piece for up front that will have a filter. I gotta see what shapes are out there filter wise to see what I can do.

    hey guys just to give you a heads up i am engineering a CAI for the lancer being released to the public this weekend in kenosha wisconsin at the drag strip i will be making a proffessional CAI with dyno sheets to prove that it has been engineered for max hp ill keep you guys posted on my progres still dyno tuning it

    Hey guys i was wondering what do you think. Check out this CAI its from a 2007-2008 Scion. the shape of it looks like it would fit down the right side with only just a bit of modification what do you guys think? crap im at work and i cant access photobucket to upload the pic goto Grip motorsports. It looks like it really could fit.[/img]

    im workin with a mazda 3 intake right now.itll fit,its just the damn MAF is a little too long so im modifying it to hold the sensor tightly and securely and hopefully nothing comes on,anf it works.ill post pics later when im done with it. :lol:
