I know this is probably a dumb question but does anyone know if there is a way to fix or improve how the car preforms when the AC is on. IDK if its just me but it feels like it runs so sluggish. Would a more powerful alternator work or something along those lines?

its because its engageing the pulley for the pump so its working the engine harded. only way to stop it is turning off the ac..

yeah the ac drains alot of power. thats why you see track cars and such with no ac or anything. in my car its like night and day with the ac on.

Lol CVT and performance don't coexist. It's a 150hp, front wheel drive, 3300 lb, 4 door car. Honestly in my opinion, performance is pretty useless. You risk voiding your warranty and even if you do everything it still doesn't get that much faster.
But anyway, there's no real way to make your car quicker with the AC on. However 1 solution is roof scoop and vented back windows :) Only problem with that is stop and go traffic lol.

the loss of perfomance with the ac on doesnt bother me at all, when im in traffic i dont have anything to prove to anybody. Besides i knew these cars where slow b4 i purchased it. As a daily driver the lancer is still more then anyone should need. Besides if you would drive my other car which is a 09 toyota Matrix with around 120 hp at the engine for a day or two

You can get a tune program, like EFI Live or something, and adjust it yourself. My friend has a tune for his truck that he did himself, he just adjusted at what rpm the a/c automatically shuts off, so if he gets on it hard or something along those lines the a/c shuts itself off and he doesn't have to deal with it. I am almost certainly telling the story wrong, but its something along those lines.

umm....i think i'll pass on the Matrix..thanxx anyway. lol Yea i know the car wasn't built for speed that why i'm rebuilding my 89 Camaro to have 410 HP X-D. I was just wondering because i dont always want to shut my AC off to pull onto a busy rd. lol

89 camaro! at 410hp does it even matter if u lose a handful of horses when pulling on busy road? what u can do is get one of those electric water pumps and the gain of hp ull get from that should even out for the loss of the AC. Or take out the Ac and the power steering and hang out with the Integra and civc guys lol. you do have some options

noo, with that much HP it doesn't but thats a project early into the works...still buying the parts to build the motor. Right now only have the body, witch is in mint condition. I like my AC...nd wouldn't ride with any civics tho...lol
