In the spirit of customization (especially cheap customization) I decided to mock up my rims. I've seen a lot of people completely black out their rims but I wanted to try something different. What do you guys think? Side note: this was 10 minutes with electrical tape and scissors. I'll obviously black out the outer part of the rim and the insides. The main thing I want to keep is the silver lip on the outside of each spoke. I might do more later.
I think it actually looks pretty badass! cant wait to see what it will look like. so you only did one wheel? lol buy some painters tape
Yeah I only did one wheel and only got as far as the second picture. I just peeled it off a few minutes ago but I'll eventually do all the wheels probably with plasti-dip. And I'll definitely use painters tape when I'm doing the real thing rather than electrical tape lol.
sorry man i cant feel it. It looks somewhat tacky i commend you for trying something different though. But it is your car so its all about what you like. I would try to do something a little different not so loud subtle but still stands out till you can get new wheels. Just my opinion.
I appreciate all the opinions guys. I'd rather hear what you guys think before I go paint them and say "LOOK LOOK NEW WHEELS SO SWEET!" and everyone be like "Yeah...no." I guess I'll just stick to stock for right now. Wheels are probably last on my list because their pretty expensive and it's hard to weigh looks vs price. MontrealGTS: I might try that later, but those inside parts are really hard to tape off lol
quite frankly, i am unsure of what to say, they really don't look bad at all, but they don't look amazing. I would have to see them in person to really judge, but I gotta hand it to ya, preety unique idea, and in 10 minutes, preety fast too. not too shabby
Thanks haha. Pretty simple really. And my wheels are still stock. After looking at the pictures I decided I didn't like them.
it looks like you're going for this look: if you finished the black out like you were doing in the second pic it wouldnt look bad at all IMO
Yeah I just thought I would try something different. I don't really like those rims in that picture lol. Not enough spokes and too skinny.
