I just recently bought a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit and i have the Scosche dash kit and the adapter, but how easy it is to install yourself, even for someone like me who hasnt installed one before. And can anyone give me a diagram or something to know where all the wires are suppost to go, like wheres the 12V, ignition, and for the negative and positives for all the speakers. Oh and i have the basic package, no PAC for steering wheel controls or Subwoofer. Thanks

umm its really simple. im to tired but i would find u the tutorial on how to remove the old head unit. but once u get that out u have 2 wire harness that you have, the one that comes with the radio and the one that you have to buy. theirs a diagram in the in the little package of the harness that you bought with the color codes and some were with the radio in the manual i belive with the color codes also...then u just mix and match the wires corresponding with each other... you just want to sauder them together or somtin to make a secure and good connection. and then u plug the one end of the wires to the head unit. and the other end will be plugged into the old wire harness that comes out of the radio.

the rest is just fitting it the way you want and re-assembling it all

only thing im not to sure of. is theirs 2 harnesses coming off of the stock radio so i don't know how the other harness would come into play unless its just the display or something....

well in my experience the most youll need when installing sound systems is patience and keep your calm...once you get irritated you wont wanna do things right and then youll just fuck it up... PM me ur email so i can send you the pdf file i have on the factory sound system...youll probably want to study it a few times before actually going at it, i know thats saved me lots of time and many headaches in the past...also ur new HU should have a diagram sticked to it...use the pdf for reference on color codding but i dont understand it quite well, my best suggestion is to get a 9v battery or a AA, and once you cut off the speaker wires just try every two wires to see if they lead to one speaker...also get a light tester or multimeter to get the 12+ and switch wires before cutting them off...and when you do start cutting, do them one by one...

to all those that would like the pdf file just pm me ur email, asking for it and ill send it ASAP :D

i do believe the second harness is for the display....i havent used any of the dash kits for our cars yet but i had heard about the harnesses they bring and totally forgot about them on my previous post...i dont remember seeing a diagram on the stock radio when i took it out a few months ago, but u can probably mix and match them with the pdf...

^^^ ouch. yea i haven't had the money to put an after market radio in my car yet. but my last car the radio had the diagram in the box

usually when i have wired the radios(all of 3 cars =p) ive noticed that the wires were all the same color for the connections. like left rear speakers were purple and negatives were striped with white.. ect...

yeah that happens every so often...but not all manufacturers do that...hence they want to make our lives harder for us to mod them...so yeah

It's really not that hard. just make sure u know that there are no slides for it when you take in out. it's got screws(don't use screws that are to long because I messed up my flip screen). as long as you look at the diagram you will be fine. make sure you get those shrink tubes so you don't let moisture get into your wires.

yo it is easy as hell the diagram is on the radio you should only have to splice a couple of wires and the dash kit is easy to install just go for it and if you still need a diagram just look it up on the net

Im installing my head unit on Monday, now that freaking schools over and i have some extra time. I already have the wires connected, I just have to install the head unit and plug it in. Ill post picks when im done and ill let you see how the fit is for yourself.

Alright so i got thmy pioneer head unit installed today. The unit itself is freaking fantastic from what I can tell so far. The only thing is that it doesnt pick up AM radio so well, which ive read in review before, and it doesnt bother me much. I mainly bought this thing so that i can get full ipod control. I was using one of those over the radio transmission units before and it irritated me alot because id get alot of static, and if you drove like 30 miles, Id end up picking up other radio stations. This Pioneer unit lets me control my ipod and even search by Artist, song, album, genre, and even composer. And i do it all through the remote without touching the ipod. The only thing is that its got a learning curve since the controls are a bit confusing at times but im already getting the hang of it.

The scosche dask kit has a decent fit even though im not completely happy with it. First of all the the clips that they provide are shit, I had one break and the others come off real easy, so i ended up swapping those out for the stock ones. Also it doesnt seem to hold in the AC vents well either, so when i was installing it, theyd pop up slightly and then id have to pull the whole thing off to reinstall the vents or shove something in there to pull the vents forward to lock them in place. There are a few places that arent right, and the top clips dont seem to be holding it right, so there is a small gap at the top, but im not gonna worry about it too much, I do have a $13000 DE after all. Here are the pics.
