I am looking to buy a RRM FED header.. Just wanted to know what everyone thought about them? Good Idea or Bad idea? The only other mod i have right now is a magnaflow cat-back exhaust. I have a 2008 lancer GTS
It´s the only header out there with is dynoed. EVO Soul has a 4-2-1 header, but no dyno sheet. I´m still waiting for some numbers, but I don´t get them. They said the header is already install, but they had to drive around about 300 miles to let the ECU change all parameters for the new header. Don´t know how long it take them do drive 300 miles. I´m waiting nearly two weeks.
When ever they get them numbers send me a link. I would hate to buy rrms header if this one is better.
Sure I´ll post their numbers. The main difference is the design of the two headers. RRMs header is a 4-1 header, it gives you more top end power. The one form EVO Soul is a 4-2-1, it gives more power at the lower rpms and the power comes over the whole rpm range. That is the technical difference, but nobody knows which kind is better for the Lancers engine. I know it form the Honda engines that the work better with a 4-1 header, but on some models the stock header works better the all others. By the S 2000 you lose performance with an after market header. So the time will show us which one is the best for the Lancer
My car saw a difference with the RRM header. but obviously its a build up add-on part. just adding the header alone won't show a huge difference. Your butt-dyno will feel it and the sound of the exhaust will be different. To take advantage of it fully, I recommend either the RRM Timing Module or the RRM piggyback or both.
The magic word is TURBO!! But you know this! That is the only real thing the makes power on the lancer, all the other things are not enough to feel it. I would like to see a dyno sheet from the header with the timing box, the header with the piggy back and all three things together. I´m very excited for the dyno sheet of the EVO Soul header.
I don't want my exhaust to get quieter.. I was hoping my exhaust would get louder. I think i might hold off on getting a header for now.
Mine did get quieter, but quiet in a good way. It wasn't a high pitched raspy sound. It was now deeper and low in tone, not volume. Think of it as singers. You can have a bass and tenor singing together but the tenor will sound louder due to a higher tone.
header made the exhaust quieter? sweet, one of my deterrents for getting it is i dont want my car to be any louder.
