I realize this comes down to personal prefrence but what do you fella's think are a good rim for a 4 by 100 lug pattern. Im going to get rid of my hub caps (thank god!) and get some rims real soon and I was just woundering if I could get a little input. Oh and what size should I get because right now im running 15's everyone tells me I should go a size or to up becsuse it will help make it look slamed.

Yeah man, wheels are strictly a personal thing to choose. Size wise, I have seen up to a 20" on an ES...but he had the wheelwells tubbed (I think its a waste of money to do crap like that). I have 18" axis wheels on my R/A...the only advice I have to offer is to be sure of the tire size and how it fits. I originally had 235/40/18 tires, but whenever I hit a bump...a god-awful scrub from the back. I went to a 35 series tire and have yet to see or hear any issues. But as for wheel selection, go with what YOU like. Its ok to get opinions, just don't live by other people's likes and dislikes...its your ride.

Like lancer2quick said, it depends on personal preference. I have 18" white rims on my gray es and just thought white would look pretty good countering with the dark color of the car. Just what I like. But I am also riding on 35 series tires and have no rubbing issues. Granted I'm paying out the ass for tires when I need them, but there are no issues.

like you said it is personal preference it all depends what you want to do with you car if you want to show it put 20's and keep them clean however if you want speed id say something a smaller to keep weight down and also to keep your speedometer close without modification. im most likely going with a lightweight 16 inch rim.

Funny thing about rims affecting the speedo. I put 18" rims on my lancer, and the speedo didn't change one bit. Possibly one or two mph off, but nothing very significant. I would have figured that changing the wheel size by that much would have changed something, but nope. Which is good. Don't have to buy a tuner or take it to the dealer.

I think some one needs to post pictures of a lancer with 20s... because I really dont think that would look great and it will probley rubb a lot!

20s on a Lancer would be obnoxious. If that's what you're into, then sure go ahead, but that isn't my cup of tea, if you will. And I'm pretty sure that if you put 20s on a Lancer, without jacking it up, you wouldn't be able to move, much less rub. lol.

I can imagine it now it's midnight in the middle of the bronx I look over and see a black lancer with tinted windows with the biggest chrome wheels. Ghetto cruser anyone???

It doesn't really matter what brand you go with, as long as you like them. You can go spend a lot of money and buy BBS, or Konig, or Momo rims, which they are all really good name brands and hold up nicely. Or you can go buy an off-brand like I did, Concept Seven's. Whatever you like. But the 3 listed are very good, and expensive, brands. Thats really all I know about them, I'm sure someone else will let you know more.

bump for what? looking for more suggestions? :) lol

You can get nearly anywheel you want in a 4x100 lug pattern. That is usually not your limiting factor when it comes to wheels. It's usually the size and offset that might limit you.

Many people have suggested a smaller, lightweight wheel since this wouldhelp your car a bit in the go department. However, are you really planning on racing or anything? If you're mostly stock on performance, and don't plan on going crazy and getting every little bit out of it, I'd say go with whatever wheels you tihnk look nicest.

For size, with an 06 ES, I'd go with 17s. The wheels aren't too big that you look like you're trying to get dubs or something, and not so small that you have too much tire. 17s are a very common size as well, so if you want to buy used, it'll make it easier.

For brands, there are TONS of brands. Do you want to be a brand name whore and get something high end like BBS, Advan, etc (these guys make wheels for race cars and stuff.... they're crazy). Or you can go with some cheaper brand that looks just as good and will get the job done. however, these will probably weigh more and such but like i said before, if you don't need all the crazy power you can get (realistically), I don't tihnk that it's that big of a deal.

Some suggestions on specific wheels... well... what kind of wheel designs do you like? Here is a mix of designs and are a few of my favourite rims.

    BBS RGR
    Volk TE37
    Work Emotion CR-Kai
    Tenzo-R DC6
    Tenzo-R Type M
    Konig Afterburners
    Enkei EV5

I think that's a good list to get you started.... haha

Go on some online wheel stores (like tirerack, 1010tires, etc) and look at the huge list of wheels.
