I bought my lancer about 2 months ago and absolutely love it! it seems a little underpowered compared to the american cars im used to driving but i like the fact it can actually corner and gets close to 30mpg. My rrm short ram intake comes in tomorrow im pretty stoked about that. I have a decent background in cars for my age (18). however just recently in the last year have started working with imports. My aim is for my car to look clean and pretty close to stock yet be able to wrangle in all the mustangs at the local race spot. :D

Well you have a good start... the best thing is to start with bolt on parts.
Header, Exhaust... maybe some coilovers and just work from there.
Trust me this car can get there fast ... they are lighter and easy to work on.

if you want to hit 200hp you may want to consider going turbo and skip bolt ons

Adding boost to your car is a bolt on mod.
All you have to do is bolt on all the parts needed!

lol well true you do have to bolt it on but i was meaning more of headers intake and so on that dont really add that much

well then wouldnt EVERY mod be a bolt on... im sure there is a lil more tuning involved with a turbo than with headers of intake lol :D

It is possible to get to 200 in an 03...at leasy pretty close. Now, my R/A is 2.4MIVEC and I'm putting down a consistant 245hp. In the 2.0,it may be a little harder, but I think it can be done. On my R/A, I have a custom intake, throttle body, ported intake manifold, forged pistons, ferrea valvetrain, camshaft, EVO8 injectors, fuel pump, custom header, custom exhaust. On top of that, I have my ECU tune, lightweight pulleys and flywheel. With the right combo of parts and propre tuning, you can get there. It just takes a lot.

Forgot to add that the 245 was with 100 octane fuel...and on 93, I still get around 20-24mpg...all depending on how I drive it.

yeah i think it can be done n/a and that may be the route i go but turbokits are pretty luring. rrm short ram went on yesterday and i love it already. performance wise it didnt do much but when you start out with 107 to the wheels letting it breath better at best is giving me 112. but hopefully full exhaust and a tune will let it come out a little more.
