    Hello Lancer onwers

when you check the maintainers they said 15000 mi change air purified filter(not air filter)

any one changed purified filter? Do i really have to change it at 15000mi?

is it easy to do it my self? How much it cost to change it in dealer?

The dealer did it with mine. I just checked my service report and they changed it at 15k and 30k and prob will again at 45k in a couple months

  3. I haven't personally changed mine out yet, but if its anything like the 7th gen or other Mitsu's, its going to be behind the glove box and held on by 2 screws. You'll need to remove the glove box to acess the filter. Honestly, if you aren't certain or comfortable work on your vehicle, I suggest to just have the dealer perform the task. It isn't a hard thing to do, but can be if you don't know where to start.

when went to the dealer the other day i asked about this. the guy told me that you should always follow your regular maintance. i already know that they were going to say that. so my next question was how much are they? they told me $45 i said shit are you joking. hell i don't need it that bad. i will end up changing it just not now.

that all depends on the oil ur using...for example, im using Royal Purple semi-synthetic oil and its change rate is at 7500 miles...if your using regular petroleum oil it should be done every 3000 miles...there are some synthetic oils that claim they can take up to 70,000 miles (yeah, thats seventy) like Amsoil, among other brands...i like Royal Purple and plan to keep using it for a while...just remember our cars use 5W-20, and always use the one said by the manufacturer...
