do u have any aftermarket mods in it??.. i wonder if u have any even bolt-ons if that would change the price or if they would even bring that to consideration...

When I traded mine after getting rear ended a month ago I got $17,000 trade-in with a fed up rear bumper. 08 GTS CVT S&S 15,000 Cig hole in seat, dent in door, otherwise good shape... not even mentioning the rock chips!!!

It's bone stock... The appraiser marked up the price by $500 (they mark up/down in $500 increments only) for the rims and grill work. So?

Ive been trying to get rid of my car for over 3 months now.. Ive gone to a LOT of dealerships, and Ive been offered anywhere from 14,000 to 9,000 ;)

this is no surprise... this just proof my theory on the quality of this car

Dealerships were offering that to buy it off of you or trade in?

That actually makes a lot of sense that your car was only worth that much....do you know how much your car depreciates once it leaves the lot? can be any where from 2k to 4k

No kidding buddy. But not 8k. Basically, it's a result of the economy and it's only going to get worse.

Because of bad economy, It doesn't make sense. It's a 4cyl car, so for short its a economy/reliable car. If its SUV or V8, then it should depreciate a lot.

I can't imagine if you have bigger mileage. How much they gonna buy it 8k? That's how much I bought my 2000 Eclipse with 87k miles. :(

i remember i tried 2 trade in my 08 GTS with S&S after driving it for about roughly 6 months i only got quoted for $15 000 mint condition, but i did this last winter so it has been a good yr

    so if it went down to $9 000 i can c y

but where im from mitsu cars r classified as a domestic car so u wont get that much for it, mitsu's depreciate much faster then something like a honda, in canada that is

i dono about the states but thats wht its like here

but i dont really care that thing grew on me as i started 2 mod the car more and more now im quite happy with it

  13. Buddy of mine works at carmax. His words " Its better if your car is stock" Seems that they don't really care to markup based on features.

i dont know how it is anywhere else but if carmax doesnt care for aftermarket parts there is a magazine at least i houston that features only cars that have had mods put on them... and i think u can set your own price on there too.. you could probably get a better deal for your car that way

If anyone read the Consumer Report or Consumer Guide review of the Mitsubishi Lancer, they cited as a major issue, "low resale value"!Good luck, that's a nice ride you've got.

my dad and uncle were a car saleman for a few years and they both told my the mitsubishi has never had a great resale value, but madza, ford , chevy, dodge, etc. don't either. this isn't answering your question but i thought i would share. if you were to have evo or maybe the ralliart they have better resale value. this is just me i didn't buy the lancer for the resale value i got it because i liked the looks and the features it comes with for the money. the lancer it is a good little car.

just traded in my GTS with Tech & SS package 3 weeks ago, 13,500 (or so) miles.
mitsubishi ( Maywood, NJ) bought it for $16,755..no joke!
and that's the exact (KBB) value i was aiming for. i miss that car though..first car i bought.
