I don't build this car to make it "fast". I do it as a hobby or something to do rather than waste away watching crap on TV. I think its fun to work and design a car the way I want. Lancers have come a long way. They are still a work in progress. Not to long ago, the stock motors were like 120 hp. So be greatful that our base model starts with 152 chp. Look at Honda. The Civic used to be a 110 hp model.
Yeah I know. And there is no way in hell with the following mods you are anywhere near 180 wheel hp. Works ECU Injen CAI Greddy Exhaust RRM Header RRM Pully I'm not sure if your iphone accelerometer that stated you ran a 15.10 in an automatic guessed your hp too, but it is way wrong. You will be lucky to be in the 160s to the wheels. You can not go by manufactures claimed dynos and then add them all up. It doesn't work that way. CAI = 11 hp Exhaust = 10 hp Header = 8 hp Pulley = 5 hp Total would equal: 34 hp gained just from those mods?????? WRONG WRONG WRONG. You might see a combined total of 15 whp gained from all of them. Again, my guess is around 160. I came up with this by averages. The average stock dyno pulls has been around 125 whp. Add the fairly accurate mod hp Add the 19 hp claimed by Works flash 125 + 15 + 19 = 159 Again, Works car with their intake, exhaust, and flash only pulled a 151.3 whp on the dyno. The only difference you have is a header, pully, and slightly cooler air coming in. I don't think that would net a 28.7 whp difference. 180 - 151.3 = 28.7. But I could see it POSSIBLEY show a 5-8 hp difference. 151.3 + 8 = 159.3. Which takes me right back to my guess of 160 to the wheels.
i do agree.. thats why i would rather spend the money on a new hood and coilovers for my car instead of going with the turbo.. ya it will get faster but its too expensive... next time ima just go with a car thats decently fast stock and then start throwin mods at it lol
That sounds about right. Now just get the Injen CAI, RRM pulley, and RRM header and you will show another 45 whp improvement like XxLaNcErGTSxX and be pushing 180. :sign5: :sign5: :sign5:
Both, autos and standards, have a crank pulley. The stock one is 4-5 pounds and the engine must utilize more hp to get it to spin. By replacing it with a lighter one (RRMs is less than a pound) it frees up that hp to be used to the wheels.
haha NOT ever hear of a custom flash 1 that pushes the car to the max? The WORKS flash is a basic safe flash, i have a custom 1 building off of that so
Yes. I have. But not a flash that showed a 50-60 whp gain on a N/A car. Again, WORKS car that they race and care more about than yours was only able to pull an extra 19 whp from the flash. There is no way in Gods green Earth that they miracled you a 40-50 whp gain. Its not going to happen. AND, last I checked, a mail-in tune is NOT custom. A custom tune is done on a dyno. Which yours wasn't or we wouldn't be having this discussion because your dynos would show you nowhere near 180.
Thats why I said prob. I NEVER SAID WHAT THE CAR HAD BC I DID NOT DYNO IT> JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ITS JUST GUESSES
ya mines not a guess.. im lookin at the dyno paper that WORKs printed out for me.. lol and what is this "custom flash" increasing the mail in flashs performance u speak of ? heh
Well I hope you aren't a gambling man, because your guessing sucks. So until you get the car dynoed, I think a safer more accurate guess for you to spread around the internet is "about 155"
i was just reading this and i think after i install the header i will take a drive to a dyno. it a 2.5 hour drive one way so i have to get there early enough so the car can cool down a little.
