I'm stuck between the K&N Typhoon Intake Kit (69-6544TS) and the Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake (303-129-101) for my '08 Lancer GTS.

Anyone have sound clips of either intake installed on their Lancer.

Mostly looking for reviews, sound quality(loudness), throttle response, overall difference before and after installation.

    Thanks in advance.

I can't give you a review on the one made for the Lancer but long story short...

For the Galant I will NEVER recommend a Weapon R product to anyone for the rest of my life. Poor quality assurance and very poor customer service right down to the owner of the company. Almost took my money and stuck with an intake I couldn't use.

If I had to choose between the two I would go with K&N hands down... I would probably go with a homemade intake first before I buy a WeaponR POS intake...

I just recieved my K&N SRI. I installed it last night and I could really tell the difference in the performance. I has a very nice sound to it but nothing too loud. The install only took me about 40 mins. I also had the Injen CAI on my lancer and with out a doubt like the K&N better. I had a weapon R on my Altima and like Prophet said they are very poor quality. I would recomend the K&N hands down. I will try and track down a camera and get you a sound clip

CAI sounds like pure SEXXX. I recommend that over any intake out for the 08 Lancer.

Installed the Weapon-R, it sounds like a POS, and the power is less than stock, bogging really noticeable. I was embarrassed driving back to the garage to take it all out and go back to stock.

I own the K&N SRI for my 09 GTS and I've driven my buddy's with the Injen CAI, and hands down I prefer the K&N way more. The sound of the K&N is great around the 3K and not overwhelming(can't really hear it at all) when you are just cruising.
I have the CVT and u can feel the added response. My MPG went up but only slightly like 1 or 2 maybe. Great intake and would highly recommend.
