So every car has there nick names. RSX = DC5 Integs = DC2 (Depending on the year) S2000 = SK2 M3 = E46 Civics Hatch = EG Civics = EK (Depending on the year) And so on. I was wondering if the Lancer has any nicknames besides "9GL"

The Worldwide model code/prefix name for the 2008+ Lancer is the "CJ" Lancer. i know the previous model (2006-) was called the "CH" Lancer.
most people in japan refer to our cars by the basic chassis ID CY4A, CBA-CY4A for the ralliarts, CBA-CX4A for the awd wagon models, DBA-CY4A for GTS', etc etc etc etc etc.
on my inner door chassis badge it says mode :CJ..Lancer built Feb08. i agree the hood badge says model: CY4A./h8
