Hi guys. I'm hoping to get a simple response. I have a 2009 Lancer GTS and want to put winter tires on. I want to put 16" steel rims on. What size tire will fit best? Thanks.
This has been answered a few times here.... Seach is your best friend.... To answer quickly... 205/60/r16 is your best fit...
^ what he said. And your rims need to be 5X114.3 bolt pattern. I just bought a set of 4 goodyear nordic tires for $470. If you decide to just stick with 18's you need 215/45/r18 18s are expensive though.
Thanks for the response guys. I'm price shopping right now and I'm wondering what is a decent price. One retailer quoted me about $1500 for 17" aluminum wheels and winter tires including GST, install and tire balance. Mitsu dealer here in Edmonton quoted me $1080 for 16" black steel rims and winter tires everything inlcuded again or I could go with 16" aluminum for $150 for all four tires. Got quoted $600 for sensors but I will ignore those. I went to a website a buddy recommended (www.tiresavings.com) and I can get a set of decent winter tires for about $455 CAN including shipping. Steel rims I'm sure I can get for about $40 each so my total cost would be about $615 plus install. Can you guys tell me how much you guys paid for everything?
I got some 16 steelies with 4 General Tire Altimax arctic installed and tx in for 845$ CDN... It's supposed to be a pretty good tire... we'll see when the snow comes !! ;-)
The internet is great, do a Goggle search on cheap winter tires and you can find more info from all the internet sales available. :drunken:
I bought Goodyear Nordic tires for $470 and 16'' steel rims are like $50 a piece. You definitely dont need to spend over $1,000.
Hey guys not sure if anyone knows this but I know 205/60/16 is our ideal 16 inch winter. However they arent to easy to come by and are expensive for good ones. My question is, with 205/55/16 there is approx a 2.9% difference in revs so speedo reads a little off but so does the alternate sizes recommended by tirerack. My actual concern is not about the speedo its regarding electrical systems etc on the lancer. Will this 2.9% change affect anything other then distance and speed readings? Things such as premature service lights etc are not a concern to me its making sure this will not cause a system to change fuel ratios or anything of that sort. Someone please let me know as im teetering on snow season and i have to get something on and there is a TON of 205/55/16 locally for cheap but that wont be the case for long. Cheers
