Hey guys so whats happened here is that I was replacing my right-side sidemarker light with a new LED. Have done this several times before and something like this has never happened, but in this case while installation, the little plastic piece that encloses the sidemarker bulb popped off the slot and fell forward into the housing. Any suggestions on how to get it back in? Or will I need to buy a whole new housing? Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.
Well you can try the dealer 1st, tell them you where replacing a bad bulb. Make sure you put the original bulb on the other side.
You could always use a wire hanger, just make sure you cover the end in electrical tape or something not to scratch the inside of the lens. Other than that, the only other choices are 1) open the headlight itself, or 2) go to the dealer like suggested above. Personally, I'd try it with the wire hanger first. You should be able to fish it out with that.
pop the headlights oepn and do a retrofit bro! wire hanger should work though. i would just take it to mitsu and tell them its their problem.
I would be able to pull it back closer with a wire hanger, but I dont think I'd be able to "pop" it back in place with that though. It has to be pushed into place, not pulled. And that I can't do without baking the cover off I'll take it to the dealership first and see what they offer.
Hey guys just to follow up on this, so I took the car into the dealership a week ago. They didnt really ask me any questions at all. I just showed them the housing and said look what happened basically. The service manager offered to order a new housing. So once it arrived, they called me in and ended up replacing it free of charge.
