i have been reading a lot of useful info from this forum for quite a long time....until today i pass by my local deal and saw this electric blue 08 GTS *NO sun sound package for CAD $19800.... so i decide to register to the forum and ask this question. get a new 09 Lance SE, or this used 08 GTS? the 09 SE has a better seat cloth in my opinion....and i believe the 08 GTS has the same engine as the base models...so the only difference would be the 18" alloy, bigger brakes? any insights? many thanks, new member
I believe the GTS has a 2.4L while SE is 2.0L. I also think the SE is basically the same as the ES Sport model in the United States (which is what I have). Oh, and are you getting a 5 speed or cvt?
oh?....i thought the 08 GTS has 2.0L just like the other models.... getting 5 speed ....i never like CVT....and i don't like the pedal shift idea.....why trying so hard to simulate gear change?
Maybe the 08 GTS is 2.0L but I didn't think they changed anything engine-wise between 08 and 09 and I know the 09 GTS is 2.4L. And if you are getting a 5-speed instead of a CVT than the paddle shifters that come with the GTS CVT and not the other CVT's isn't really an issue.
if you're going to mod everything anyway i suggest u just get the SE. but if you aren't for alwhile just get the GTS
What's the real performance difference between the 08 GTS and the 09 SE then if they both have the same engine?
if u get the 08 electric blue... i DO have an extra set of GTS front bumper lip extensions for sale. (my car is electric blue too) :wink: haha
All 2008 models (DE,ES and GTS) have the 4b11 engine (2.0) All 2009 models ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ have the 4b12 engine (2.4) If you are looking for a performance car this is not the car you want. there are cars that are a LOT faster that the lancer (some with even more than double the HP) for the same price you can get a GTS Welcome to LAncerTuners.Com :albino:
