Hey. I was just wondering... is there any need to leave the stock ram scoop in (the thing that connects to the airbox) after you install the RRM SRI or can I just get rid of it? Does it matter? Like does it direct the outside air to the SRI better if I leave it in or something?
ur gonna get a lot of mixed answers on the board. But I personally think its absolutely useless and does not have to be connected. I think its just a matter of physics. With the sealed airbox theres pressure that can build up to suck are in from the scoop. But now since its an open field, pressure can't build up and therefore useless....dunno just my 2 cents
I agree. I took mine off after about 3 weeks (cause i'm kinda lazy) and felt no difference in performance.
You'll get barely enough extra air through it to extinguish a match. Unless you're into the placebo effect, ditch it. Besides, it's only attached via those two pathetic plastic screwplugs.. never a good thing to have something flopping around in the engine bay.
