    Re: yup

i just meant u could introduce urself in the newcomers section =)... and i doubt there will be a recall till a lot of people start reporting this, and since it's only happened to one guy when they were at i think 25k miles on the aluminum pulley... i doubt anything is gonna happen till people reach like 50k miles... then maybe there'll be a recall on the pulleys... maybe..

From reading this entire post. Its clear that EVERYONE has this problem, not just one guy. It is wearing a ring, and it can cause an oil leak. So just saying, well its only happened to one person is getting a little ridiculous.

this might be off topic, this might not... my dad always told me that mitsubishi had a history of "eating" oil, since he always had to keep adding oil to his old car, yet again, that was a 88' mitsu back in the day lol... i guess that this would fall into that category? :-\

Well okay went to the service dept. today and as of this time they dont have any comment. Actually they had not even heard of it until i mentioned it. But Mike said he will look into it and i will have more for you when i talk to them again. Sorry i dont have anymore info at this time.

One fellow member from this club who attended the RRM meet this past saturday showed me his STOCK pulley after having RRM install thier Pulley.

The saaaaaaame groove on the RRM pulley we've seen was also apparent in the stock pulley as well. You could even run your finger through the stock piece and feel the indention of the groove.

Either way this is not looking good for us.

RRM has the V2 pulley for both the 2.0 and 2.4 lancer. This pulley has a hardened steel sleeve to solve the oil leak problem. I just put mine on last weekend and will check it every 1000 miles or so to check how it's holding up.

The only update at this time would be RRMs V2 pully. They now have the steel insert making the pully stronger but as from Mitsu nothing at this time.

Ok, so the V2 solves the leaking problem...but Mitsu isn't going to do anythin about the stock one? Are there any recalls out on the 08 GTS anyway?

no recalls... yet. The stock pulley isn't wearing nearly as fast as the V1 did.
RRM has hoped to solve the problem with the more durable sleeve on the V2, but only time will tell if it is actually fixed or not.

Actually i cant say if RRMs will stop the oil leaking issue, but it should wear alot better than the all aluminum version.

Can we return the V1 for the V2?

I mean obviously this was overlooked and not tested properly, regardless even if the stock one has the same issue.

Anyone been able to accept a return?

i know i havent had any sort of leaks with my V2... it seems like the problems over with now unless someone else has had some bad luck...

I didnt go thru the whole 4 pages but, back when the problem started, it was proved that the problem wasnt the RRM pulley. it happened to a few with stock pulley..

anyways, there is no known issues with the V2 ;)
