weird smell? burning smell

do you have a SPIRITED drving style?smells bad???sounds to me like your clutch is failing.take it to the shop/dealer.

well in that case you shouldve said it was a cvt.the belt on your torque converter sounds like its slipping or even rubbing,take it to the dealer.

ur pushing the car way too much.. I've done the same and yes its some horrid burnin smell.. nothing to do w anything failing on ur car... though I wouldnt take any chances if u find it smelling when its not supposed to.

ride ur car too hard, and of course iut'll smell like burning. Get a Ralliart or an Evo if u want to run recklessly. our cars are slow as fvck.

 

No smell coming from mine, and I've done a good number of spirited driving stints. I love the way it handles when you grab it by the scruff of the neck.
As below, mine's a M/T so..
I thought I smelled clutch after some interesting driving, but it just turned out to be the puffwheat factory :O

 

Your not alone, i have excatly the same problem, some kind of strange like burning smell, i spoke to the dealer and they told me that they were going to check it in.
i tought that it was a plastic bag, or maybe the HID overcharging the wires or something, i tought that the exahust was broken but everything was fine even the brakes.

after trying everything i found a solution, maybe it will work for u, try this, open the a/c vent so you can get the air from the outside try to keep it open for a couple of hours, after that close it and try to hit it hard again, the smell is gone, you can smell it sometimes thought, im about to send the car to the dealer to check that problem but if you figure out what its let me know n_n

Did you find a solution?? About 2 weeks after lowering my car im getting a strange burning smell from the front end. I cant see it having anything to do with the lowering since i have no rubbing at all, but it is odd timing. Shes going in to be checked this monday.

 

Well i jacked my car up at work today to have a look and i found some plastic melted to my exhaust pipe.. PHEWWWWWWWW!!

 

I had a somewhat similar smell, and it turned out to be a plastic bag on my Cat. Look under your car and see if it looks a lil rusted to a weird color. Most peopel find out its only a bag.
