went on a trip in the last 2 days (went to quebec) and i achievec a whooping 6.8L per 100 kilometres with the lancer (involving a little bit of technique but not anything extreme)

I am now at 701 kilometres on 1 gas tank (top filled at departure) and judging by experience qith the car and the inboard compy i can achieve another 150 kilometres on this sole tank.

all this was made in a rather hilly environement (quebec and l'ile d'orlean (orlean island)) .

So i am judging our cars to be pretty economic from now on and i think it can get even more so!

I do 31.0 MPGs! on night-time trips, from Miami all the way to Ft. Lauderdale Airport (595). Friggin awesome :D

When im on the streets of miami, since here traffic sux and 80% of the drivers who do have a license seems to have gotten it on a box of cereal, I'm always round 17~20 mpg top! ... whereas the express ways let me do 20~24

    you all suck lol
i drive like an ass so i get around like 230-40 to a tank
    once only 211
i used to get like 360
and even when i consistently drive normally and shift befire 4k RPMs still bad gas mileage

not hard at all just hard to do when you are not used to.

1- not driving over speed limit (100 km/h on highway not more)

2- coasting whenever possible (on neutral to maintain speed)

3- shifting at 2000 RPM and not over

    4- minimally using the brakes

5- NO A/C (girlfriend discovered than air can be cold even without A/C lol)

and i am sure i can do even better, i will make a bellypan tomorow to make the underside more smoothly flowing and a grille block off plate,we'll see how that helps.

first off, i read somewhere (this forum perhaps) that airconditioning/windows down only minutely reduce mileage, nothing worth sacrificing comfort for.

on my trip down to Ohio i went about 550km on one tank, the CVT/cruise control held the rpm at 2500ish which is kinda weird since it claims to keep the engine at optimum rpm, i would have been happier if after engaging cruise control it dropped rpm to 2000

I just came back from Florida from Quebec (CAN) and did an average of 7.1l/100km at 114km/hour avg speed on cruise control 99% of the time. Did 760 km on the last tank.

5 speed GTS model. To me this is great millage compared to my wife's Mazda 3 !!

    Gota love this Lancer !!
