I was on a website called cleanmgp.com and it showed me how to save gas, I live in San Bernardino CA , and i work in Long Beach CA 75 miles just to work ! Well i have been getting 325 to 350 miles on a full tank filling up every two days , so my buddy gave me this site to check out .... I started to drive the way they recomend , ( Patience is the key but i do like to drive fast so it sucked at first.. ) so i filled up friday went to work , my mpg's started to go up right away ! after two days I had 300 miles and Half a tank of gas left . I said to myself wow it works i started taking pictures on my phone to show my friends , Well the best the cars MPG'S said was 46.6 , maybe not right on but I did get 511.7 miles on a full tank, right when the gas light came on i filled up so i still had at least 30 miles or more i could GO now it was tuesday and i saved a day and a halfs worth of gas! What i did ---- I warmed the car up first as i took off i shifted when i hit 2000 rpm every gear , when i was coming to a stop i put it in nuetral and let it coast to a stop, on the freeway i drove at 60miles light very light on the gas behind trucks on the slow lane , down hills i put it in neutral as well .... yeah i know i drove like an old man but its for work when i drive like this .... hears pictures after i passed 300miles .... mpg meter started rising the highest the car showed 511.7 when the light came on this is what the cars mpg said at the end of this test try it if you want to save gas, check out that site to see other cars doing the same ....
i actually did something similar to what you are talking about. Pretty much not driving like i usually do lol. I got about 460 but that was with some speeding cause people are stupid...lol...I lack the patience to do this all the time.
thats pretty nuts, i went on that site u posted....i came accross some hydrogen conversion kits for all vehicles, has anybody every checked it out or done research? it seems to good to be true and i doubt its that easy or every1 would know about it and be using it already. the only think keeping me interested is a bunch of news stories on it and it SEEMS lagit
yah i heard driving around 60 mph on the freeway consistently will save you gas. i actually tried it for a week and it actually helped.
Yea, but for us who drive a manual, id find it kinda hard and irritating to try and adjust the way we shift. Shifting at 2000 RPM completely messes up your gear speeds. Like if i slowed down to 35 mph, i would normally shift into 3rd gear, where as you would shift back into 5th at 35mph.
