Hey guys, I apologize if these questions were ask already I looking around to see if it was posted but couldn’t find it… anyways just got an 09 lancer GTS a couple of months ago, I really wanted the Evo. But it was over my price range and mostly because my insurance would go sky rocket so I figure I’ll turn my GTS into an EVO…so I saved up for a lil while but wanted to know a couple of things before I start some modifications since its still has warranty such as would these void it….. 1) dual exhaust 2) intake 3) pully 4) complete Body kit ( I doubt this one but want to make sure). Then a really silly/stupid ques. But I got to ask …Would the Evo X front bumper tamper with the Impact Safety? I pretty sure it doesn’t but some people are telling me it does so that’s why I was asking and moreover to hopefully prove them wrong…thanks .. yea i like green i notice that everyone is standard..
From what I've heard. Other LTers, correct me if I'm wrong but by law, none of that can void your warranty unless the dealer can prove what you modified cause the part to be damaged... For example, if you install an intake and your engine blows, the dealer has to prove that the intake made the engine blow in order to void the warranty....
I believe it should be like that but then again dealers are full of BS...I would consult the actual dealers maintenance section and see what they have to say, because bolt-ons are really simple things to do and should not void warranties it doesnt mean the dealer wont say shit about it...just my 2cents
If you are worried about your warranty, don't mod. Legally there are laws protecting you, but there is nothing stopping your dealer from voiding a warranty, forcing you to go to court, and spending more money. So either don't mod, or do very minor mods that can be undone before visiting the dealer.
best advice is if you DO buy anything. make sure it's a "bolt on". This way anytime you go in for major service or troubleshooting you can remove all the performance parts. and please please dont' type in green again. 8) and welcome
as for the bumper, if you are going to replace with an aftermarket kit. The kit is not as strong as oem.
My mitsu guy says "As long as what you do to you car isn't the cause of the problem your warranty won't be effected"
