Does anyone know if BBS has an exact after market rim to match the OEM on the EVO X GSR?

Looking for the closest match without having to pay factory price. Not even sure what that is yet, but know it will be steep.

Also would consider other brands that are similar to OEM design.

enkei evo x are pretty simple... im pretty sure u can find similar ones easily or you can go to evolutionm.net people are selling theirs for around a 1k for all four but i doubt they would fit our cars without rubbing... unless you roll your fenders

OK, what have I missed here. Are the EVO wheels offset more than the GTS? They are both 18" wheels and I would be using same OEM tire until it needs to be replaced.

evo wheels are 18x8.5 +38 offset our wheels are 18x7 +46 offset, and the tires on the evo are 245/40/18 and our tires are 215/45/18, its alot more complicated than just wheel size lol

I hate to be the retard to ask this and I already understand they don't fit, but if the evos and lancers have the same universal frame, why don't they fit?

^^ Although the evo wheelbase is wider IIRC, they should fit... those .5 inches should be compensated by the 38 offset. is it was all the way around then i would tel ya that there would be a problem, but i am almost positive that they will fit...

naw if the rims are 18x8.5 its not going to fit without rubbing. i had 20x8 in the front and 20x8.5 in the back, yeah they are bigger than 18s but the width in the back is still the same, and they rubbed against the fender and shredded the tires. the front was ok though. if you do get them roll the fenders.

Lots of GSR owners are selling there Enkeis.
Check out an EVO specific forum and hit up the Market place.

First of all, 18 and 20 are totally different DIAMETERS. Learn to do basic math. This is the distance across the face of the wheel. You have added 2 inches to the face. Now depending on your tire dimensions you may have taken up more of the space in the wheel wells. OMG, what in the world would cause these tires to rub???

Next, the offset is intended to keep the wheel/tire as centered as possible across the width of the wheel once attached to the hub. So like eKtor and kennyjai have pointed out, the offset on the EVO rim at +38 will make up for the difference in width since the GTS rim offset is +46.

Now, the only concern I should have would be based on the point that kennyjai has also pointed out. If I put my stock GTS tires 215/45/18 on the wider rim, is the profile of this tire taller than the EVO 245/40/18. Using standard tire measurements I would have the following:

    GTS:
    215mm / 25.4 = 8.465in (tire width)
    8.465in x 0.45 = 3.386in (tire sidewall height)
    3.386in x 2 = 6.772in (both tire sidewalls)
    6.772in + 18in = 24.772in (tire and wheel combined height)

    EVO:
    245mm / 25.4 = 9.646in (tire width)
    9.646in x 0.40 = 3.858in (tire sidewall height)
    3.858in x 2 = 7.716in (both tire sidewalls)
    7.716in + 18in = 25.716in (tire and wheel combined height)

So as you can see from the BASIC math, the EVO has a taller profile than the GTS with the same wheel diameter. The difference comes from the wheel width which makes the taller profile actually spread out and therefore can cause it to be shorter than the basic math dimensions. But notice the width of the GTS tire, 8.465in compared to the EVO at 9.646in. Now the problem will be if the GTS tire, a 215 can safely be put on an 8.5 wide rim.

With that said, putting a 20 rim on a car designed for an 18 and under, you would have to put a tire size of 235/30/20 or smaller in width to have an equal overall tire height (diameter). Since you did not say what size tire you had, this can only be a guess, but from most of the configurations I have seen is that when someone goes to a 20+" rim, they always go with the wider, lower profile tires (i.e. 255mm or greater). If you do the math on these, your width spreads out more and OMG, your tires rub the fenders. Now, if your tires with 20" rims rub, talk to the tire shop that sold you the tires and rims, because they are just as big of an idiot for selling you something that won't fit your car. One last point on the 20" rims, all wheels come in different offsets, so 20x8.5 is not the same width spacing as 18x8.5 from the inside of the wheel well to the finder from the hub. OFFSET

Curtelisjr I don't want to be a jerk, but please be careful about insulting other members here in the forums. You made a good point. You just don't need to call people idiots and insult peoples intelligence. We are all like a family here more or less and are here to help each other. You can make a point while still giving the other members their dignity. Be very careful with that. Treat people here just like you treat people in real life. The Mods will not put up with that for very long and other members will see that and not help you out as much. Don't mean to preach to you about etiquette, but since you are new I wanted to give you a friendly piece of advice. It is just good practice to be kind and respectful to others even if you can't see them on the other side of the internet. Thanks. Have a good day and good luck with the car.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was not calling chileanpride06 an idiot and I see where my wording reads like I was. I was calling the tire/wheel shops that will sell anything for a buck idiots. They have done this to me in the past, so now I make sure I know 110% what I want before speaking to a salesperson.

My deepest apologies to chileanpride06. Sorry, I just got worked up thinking about the last time I got screwed on a purchase because it looked great in the shop but turned out to be crap in the real world. When I went back to complain, they made it my fault for not knowing what my car was capable of handling and voided my warranty on the tires for abuse and misuse.

The biggest factor is the wheel's offset. Not knowing what brand or type of wheels in use it cannot be condemned as only the extra tire width or altered section width and height.
