depends on what ur looking for...if u want earth shattering bass that u can hear coming down the street...assemble your own.

The only reason I went with the fosgate package is cause its off to the side and small and doesn't compromise trunk space...I'm a college kid I couldn't imagine sticking those huge boxes in my trunk

dude whoever says it's not worth it is lieing... i love the fosgate. i love the bass on it. it's all you need if you want to bump. my neighbors from down the street complain when i have the volume at 20 that their windows are shaking with bass and sub both at 3(3 out of 6). it's dope

    ?????
mine doesn't do anything close to that even with the sub on max...... window shaking....no way. My friend has 3 twelves in his truck in which u can hear him coming from blocks away and even in front of my house it doent shake my windows. I feel you are over exaggerating

lol okay a little.......actually a ton of over exaggeration
and 20.......lol with the rockford i think you mean 45
    i hated my system
first of all that little punch sub is the dinkiest thing and it can only hit like notes comparible to most speakers Mids
all the door speakers are being replaced with polk momo series component and coaxials in the back
and im working on my two 15inch Mmats Pro Audio p3 subs for the back
they have beaten JLaudio for 7 years now in competitions
but for now al i did was
put a kicker a kicker cvr twelve in the back
and rewired all doors exept tweeters to a eclipse xa4000 amp
powering all doors on 2 chanels and the subs bridged on the other two
sounds great but the door speakers did not last very long
but if u add some extra power to th stock system my friends
    45 becomes around 17 =)

take it from me...i have the sun and sound package. NOT the navigation system, which some people seem to be confused about. There is a difference. Though the sound and components are the same, the headunit is not. So squash that one first. Secondly, the bass is not "window shaking." Now you may have some really old neighbors who are not big fans of loud music which is understandable. If you are looking for a decent bump (and let me stress DECENT), nothing more, then get the RF system. At one point, I had the RF system and my 2 10' subs all banging at the same time. It still could be better. I personally love bass and therefore I am parting out my RF system and creating my own.

AGAIN, this is not an overwhelming system, you will know that there is a subwoofer present but nothing outrageous that people would get annoyed with. Hopefully like the one i'm working on :D

Mezzedupdream...not to knock you or anything but you may be confused of the difference between a stock system and an aftermarket system. Usually auto manufactures won't put in an obnoxious system for a grociery getter.

I believe my neighbors exaggerate too but to be honest... it is definately not as bad of a setup as you guys tend to say it is. It is very decent and worth it. I guess it's all based on preference but i'm very into music... so I love bass and I think it's more than satifiying for me

I think for the money that spend to get the rockford package, u can get something a lot better...I personally like it because its space saving

Personally I think it has plenty of bang for your buck especially if you're not really into building your own system. If you want to rattle your fillings out then install your own.

actually if you really didnt want to "rattle your fillings out"
that load of money you spent could have gotten you some JL audio 10 inch subs with crystal clear sound and the perfet bump
and some very nice polk door speakers and the amps to power it all

but whatever i honestly dont think half of you guys even know what your talking about.
Rockford is actually is a shit brand they sell at best buy and unless you purchase there more expensive stuff......such as there 360 system then they will be shit for the price.
    end of story

I'd buy the premium system, then upgrade it. That way you get all the extra speaker locations and you don't have to do crazy fabrication work just to add a center channel, or anything else.

Rockford is not a bad brand, they made a smart move going mainstream. That was a good business decision on their part. I remember when Best Buy picked up Rockford, and I remember selling and installing Rockford before Best Buy picked up their line.

It should also be said that if someone wants to buy the Rockford system for their 'grocery getter' they may just like a nicer audio system. And I'll tell you my premium system in my Galant is fantastic, even factory, and even coming from an audiophile like myself.

I'm sure the factory Rockford system is more than adequate for 99% of people who buy it. What you guys have to realize is it has been made to accommodate a high demand and millions of people. For the money, yes you could probably buy something better, but then that depends on who installs it also. As someone said the Rockford system will take up less space and still sound rather good.

With all that said I'd still buy the Sun and Sound package to get the Rockford System, then after I've selected and tried and true the components I'd like to upgrade to its much easier.

The clarity oif the Mids/Highs and bass is HORRIBLE in the RF System. When I was looking at buying my car, being in the car audio business, the first thing I did was scope-out the stereo. It was nasty and made me laugh. The clarity across the frequency was low. Only at very low volumes was it "decent". Def not woth the extra $$. My girl even said it sucked. So, when I ordered my car, I told them I wanted the sunroof and not the RF System.

For under $500 you can have a system that destroys thr RF Sytem in every shape, style, and form.
