Took my car into the dealer's repair centre for the first "free labour" service this morning. Got my car back this afternoon and paid for the "oil and filter". Drove home. When I tried to start my car again in the evening, I was unable to start the first time. The second time it wouldn't start until I gave a little gas, and it sounded a little funny. I was able to drive it tonight without anything funny, but anyone know if there are anything I should check? Oil leak? Crappy technican forgot to replace my oil filter or oil plug? Pisses me off... :x
no worries man, i myself have had this prob.. u said its ur 1st service.. meaning you just got the car? bottom line is.. the lancer is known for this while its still in the break in period.. it will go away.. trust me.. it happened to me like 4 times but after i got past 5K miles.. it never happened again. Take it to mitsu and tell them that you want to get your ecu reflashed.. also have them check plugs.. filter ect ect.. tell them you are having probs starting ur car.
I had the same thing happen today. It also has happened twice with the wife. I think it might be your smart key not getting fully read or accepted by the cars black box the first time so it fails. But thats just my 2 cents ask your dealer about it.
hong kong huh?...well i was going to ask if you have anything added to your car before you drive it off from the dealer... in my case i had a lo-jack...they wired it wrong and drained out the battery all the time about 2 month after i got my lancer...
I'm going to second Big Steve on this and say that, if the car is fairly new, chances are it's just a little quirk associated with the break-in period. I had the same type of issue for the first couple-few thousand miles. It's been so long since I've had it happen, I completely forgot about it 'til you brought it up. I was pretty worried about it. But, it does go away. Treat her nice for a few thousand miles and she'll start like a dream every time. Also, if a technician with a killer hangover did forget to install your oil filter or drain plug, you'd know it. Either when you tracked an oil slick into the house or worse........
Hopefully it will go away... I had a little trouble starting it the next morning as well, just don't seems right... I've driven only 1100km (660miles) only.
no worries man this has happened to mostly all the new lancer owners as well as myself, i think it happened 4 times to me, now i have 20K on my car and it starts right up. but if you still feel uneasy take it to the dealer
it happens to our car too, you would get in try to start engine (spins but doesn't start) turn key off same thing turn off then try again starts right up we took it to the dealer they reflashed ecu now problem is gone starts up every time
