I guess what he wanted to do is turn off lights while "wating"     outside someone house... or just park on the side of a road with the AC on and no having to have the DRL on...

if your not moving its as simple as pulling up on the e-brake and restarting the car. That will turn off even the DRL's...but as far as trying to put them on a switch...not too sure about. Get a wiring diagram and find the wires that power the DRL's...its cake from there

It would be cake from there....

But its not, DRLs ar on the same line just at a diff frequency, I cannot remember what the guy found out but pretty much I now have to see if I can design a module or something to convert the "square" signal for DRLs into a relay system to seperate it from low beams. frustrating.

Someone has it posted on Mitsunation how to disable them.
There's a certain pin on the ECU or something that needs to be snipped, which then disables them. Not sure if its for the 08+, but it's very possible it would work.

sorry, I didnt read post completly correct, Yes you can easily wire in a switch to disable your headlights completly.

I was just thinking of mine own issue of trying to get them on seperate lines.

how about on the drive by issue wiring the drl's headlighits and tails onto a switch. caus u gunna hit the brake when turning. this way its completely dark.

Hey guys, Did you ever find a solution to these annoying running lights? A bypass switch or something?

i installed HIDS i put my lowbeam with my city light so one flick = city lights + lowbeam and 2 flick same thing, but 2 flick is for fogs when i wanna use them and if im not doing anything no lights opened!! with the drl wire, i just left it on a side in the engine bay =)

I recently came across this forum some time ago, but I usually spend a great deal of my time on Mitsubishi-forums.com.

There is a way to choke out the DRL signal so it doesn't come on until you turn on your low beams. I use this same method for my HIDs and it works perfectly.

    DRL Bypass

The one I used is option 3. For HIDs, you'd only need to do this directly to your wiring harness (or an extra 9006 cable if you have one). If you don't have HIDs, then you will need to create 2 of these (one for each low beam). It's perfect for me because my garage is in my alley and my neighbors that live across the alley don't have a garage, so with this I can turn off my HIDs when I come home late at night.

Unfortunately, no. The directions on afeudale's post pretty much describe everything. My post towards the end adds some help and additional information to make the process a lot easier in case you can't find all the necessary materials.

It's just a 9006 extension cable with components soldered on to choke out the DRL signal.
