ive been saving up some money from working and im graduating hs. next week so ill prob be getting a good amount of money from family and friends. So what i was wondering is what should i get performance wise, especially something that can get me off the line a little faster because im sure all of u hate how slow it is off the line. Also if its possible is there anything like this that wont void my warranty because i no my dad will be a dick about voiding the warranty on a car that is 3 months old

injen cai or rrm header. both are propably best bang for your buck. and if there are any warrenty issues just put the oe parts back on.

    injen cai, then exhaust IMO

if u want to be faster off the line, go w/ the SRI not CAI, u lose response time w/ the CAI... so i'd say RRM SRI, pulley, and an exhaust (i like greddy)

If you want to go off the line faster i say headers. Hands down before ANY part

if you're budgeting then a cold-air or short-ram intake will do just fine.

The RRM pulley isnt so much a problem more than it's the design flaw of Mitsu. I took a look at my buddies OEM pulley after he installed the RRM Pulley. He was starting to show the same groove that people are starting to see on their pulley. Stock or not

lucky for us the RRM header is so quiet, you can't tell it's on. Your dad would never know, unless he's savvy under the hood.

Any short-ram intake will make your engine tone a bit louder than stock. A cold air from Injen is not as noisy. But not as responsive as the short-ram intake.

Either way you look at it, any part you buy (performance wise) can be put back to stock in case you're worried about voiding your warranty

how hard is it to install a new header, im still getting experience at tuning and theres somethings im really good with and then stuff like the headers were im clueless

they made a v2, fixed the problem... source is straight from RRM themselves

hes asking how to get his car off the line faster not a general way to get off the line faster, if it was about that then he could get something better and faster than an evo x. good job Mod.

i have to ask. has anyone taken off their cat and put on the headers from a cali emissions 08 lancer them selves?

hrmm. ok so im liking the idea of the v2 pully. i might even get the injen CAI too sicne th pully isnt that exspensive. but what gains exactly from the pully?

well, ive only heard response from CVT owners. I havent put mine on yet, but its supposed to give you more pwoer in 6th gear....other than that its not anything like 8hp, which is pretty significant.

i think they claim 5-6 HP (not sure if at the crank or wheels) but imo the most important gain from it is a better reaction time since u have less of an opposing force (extra weight on the pulley)

I have a 5 speed and have been drag racing for 20 years.... I have no problem with getting a good launch. I have ran both an sri and the cai and the differences are not that much.... not enough to put up with that annoying sound having an air filter right next to the fire wall makes. Plus I would never pay someone over $200 for 10" of pipe with a MAS plate welded on.... Thing might cost $30 to make at most...rip-off. again..IMO

hey don't get me wrong, i'd pick a CAI over an SRI any day... just pointing out the facts, and that simply is, that w/ a CAI u will ALWAYS have a worse throttle response then with a SRI, no matter what... also, don't even get me started w/ SRI = HAI... hot air intake -_-
