Ever since I had my HID's installed on my '08 GTS, they've been having this problem and the company that installed them has no idea, but thinks it's DRL related.

Anyway, the problem is the HID's only turn on when the car is off, then you have to start the car.

Meaning, If your already driving and need to turn them on, they wont! You need to literally turn off the ignition, turn the HID's on, then turn the car back on.

So the only way to turn them on is to make sure the car is off first. Any ideas anyone? Is it DRL realted? How do I fix it?

    This is INCREDIBLY annoying!

    Thanks!

Ive had HIDs for a few months now i think and tbh ive actually never had to turn em on. The guys that did mine replaced the reg auto lights with the HIDs and they turn on from ignition. Aint had a problem since ive had em.

it should be the relay prob...
the easiest way to install HID is to tab it to the city light and let DRL off at all time and turn on after the first click..

I wouldn't say thats the easiest way.....easiest way would be just to leave ur lights on 24/7. i personally spliced into the citylights....I love not having DRL

    Hello

It all depends on how they we installed. If they are just replacing the stock bulb with the same harness with no relay, your best bet is to leave them on all the time... When you turn off the car, they will turn off automatically after you open the door... If your installation has the relay and all the crap, just take it to who installed them and have them check it...

Yea, it was installed using a relay. I will call and see what the installer tells me based on this info. Thanks guys.
