Why are people still buying this product?

Sorry to say this man, but you'll get the CEL for sure.
I had both versions and got the CEL for both.

Yeah I am not trying to disrespect but you made a huge mistake buying this product. You will hate them and yourself for doing this without researching what people have been going through.

lol so far everything you guys re saying is irrelevant
    i didnt pay for this
all i bought was the throttle body clamp and a filter
and then i have no CEL
but mitsu is gonna fix that
i have some hook ups in miami
also performance wise i like this alot more than the injen by far

i had both the v1 and v2. performance is great except when it gets hot then you can feel that heat soak other than that i liked it. and when you pop the hood and all you hear is daamnn. the injen has smoother power gains and it works great with the rrm header.

You say you have no CEL, but you'll get it. It's a fact!!!
The engine sucking in HOT air is another negative of their SRI or any SRI for that matter.
I doubt they are doing anything with Mitsu.
When I had the Fujita, I kept on calling to see if they fixed the CEL issue, and they had no clue of what the code was. I called them and told them what code it was, then Brian over at Fujita said he'll call me in a day or two. 4 days past and no response. Finally, I called them and Brian said he's working on a fix, then asked me if I could take my car to Fujita so they could figure out what causes the problem.
Here's the funny part, when I scanned my car with the OBDII scanner from Autozone, I got the code P0171. Then when I went down there, they scanned my car and told me there is no code.
40 minutes after leaving Fujita, the CEL popped up. When I got home, I immediately scanned my car with the OBDII scanner from Autozone and got the code.
    WTF is that???????????

I don't wanna sound rude, and I hope I am not attacking you. But I went down to Fujita 2 times, and they didn't do jack $hit.

The only reason why Version 2 came out is because I took the time and drove down there so they could fix all the issues it has. All Brian did was, he welded a thicker MAF housing on the intake tube and nothing else. Thus Version 2 was born.
It was nothing but headaches and worries all the time with their intake.

They didn't even compensate any gas expenses or anything. All they did was give me a NOS drink the first time and a $hitty Fujita cap the second time.

The only reason why anything got done is because I bugged the $hit out of them and was persistent. I would call them every 3 days to get an update.

Who cares, the information is here, and you've all warned him.
Let his "hook ups" deal with his stupidity.

IMO the sri is up there with the CAI, and i know this is a never ending argument but i just cant stand where the CAI air filter is its in such a bad spot, hitting a puddle or driving when it rains can mean serious problems unless you have a hydroshield and even then its not a for sure it'll stay dry and with the hydroshield all the HP gains you have over the sri is out the window for the most part

    ha-ha!

    and back to topic...
so no on the fujita sri?
i was planning on getting one

    ehh

Obviously he knows about the CEL issues and such but I doubt that classifies as stupidity. Maybe he knows something you don't or maybe cause it was free, fixing the CEL wasn't that big a deal. Had I received a free SRI, i wouldn't mind figuring out issues...it would give me something to do inbetween classes... :D

Sorry for asking a dumb question, but what's CEL? How's that setup bad for the car? over-heat?

I say buy what you like more and what your pocket allows you to get! Dont worry about which is better its not like our cars will be able to go up against 350's or somethin. Its just a psycological thing.

okay, so V2 did not fix jack shit.... I have 3 V2 Pipes and 2 V1 Pipes... Every single pipe turns on the CEL... I have a sponsorship from Fujita and dont really care if this goes against contract, becuase im leaving them for AEM but... their product sucks, and im currently using the stock intake until AEM finishes R&D on the new intake for 2008 Lancers.

If it was free then by all means try to get it to work out for you, but all in all they do not make a good product.

    just curious,
has anyone pulled out trouble code for the CEL? ..
    If so, what is it?

Not trying to fix the problem, but just wanted to know why CEL lights up ..
    *just for curiosity thing*
