Trailer hitch+Lancer= GRRRRRRRRR

    I was sitting in the drive through at subway today and a lady not paying attention backs into me and her trailer hitch almost goes completely through my bumper. Needless to say, GRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Went and got an estimate a little bit ago, because she hit me on an edge of the fiberglass and the hitch cut all the way through parts of the FG it can't be fixed, only replaced. A new stock bumber alone 529.33. Apparently because our cars are so new they can only get the bumber from a dealership, didn't even have a price for it, had to call Mitsu to find out. Total cost for for bumber, paint, and clear coat is at 1216.04. Will post pics when I find my camera.

    when i bought my car it had some front end damage from a kid in a jacked-up expedition backed into it. the total bill for the kid was 3000 for a new hood, bumper and front lip piece + paint matching. just remember it could always be worse.

    man i know that s*** would piss me off. that sucks. so our bumpers are fiberglass, i thought they were plastic?

    See that kinda pisses me off. I got the sport package for my DE. It only cost me 1300. I still hate hearing our car is so new. We all know that someone is making money just becuase its so new. It pays to bring the boys in coffee and dounuts everytime shes due for a service. But good luck sad to hear and get whiplash and sue her ass off! damn i hate people that dont pay attention to whats around them.

    so doesn't she HAVE to pay? dunno about america, but in Belgium its obliged that every car is insured, with my current car i had some damage to the front bumper, one lucky day this guy backs up into it, had it completely replaced on his behalf ^^

    Since it's her fault, she would pay for it, I just hope the she doesn't try to screw me and say I hit her, since she backed into me, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. Oh well, It's an excuse to buy a body kit:D Since a new bumber is almost 600, I'm thinking I can get and entire kit and just have to pay the extra for painting, maybe fenders and a hood too, but I digress.

    put that black sticker stuff over it to get that sexy blacked out center and hide this?

    i think wat redstar is trying to say is, find a way to even out the surface and black out ur front w/ black vinyl to disguise it, it should work perfectly =)

    though of course, i'd want the guy who hit me to pay for my new aftermarket body kit =D

    yeah I understand but I want a body kit anyway, this is just an excuse for me to do it now.

    Yeah just get the insurance check and put it aside to pay for it later and get something really nice.

    to go aftermarket would she pay all or she pay as much as the OE and you take up the rest?

    She would pay the cost to replace my bumper, paint and clear coat, only what she damaged. So if there were any more expenses, say from going with aftermarket parts, I would pay them.
