im thinking of getting the pulley from RRM. has anybody done this and seen a major improvement? any improvement? it sound good but i would like some real world info. also has anybody done this and dyno-ed? if so what was the hp and tq specs?
Many people have done this but there's a problem with the RRM pulley and the stock pulley itself. Hopefully Mitsu should do a recall and do it fast.
stock pulley weighs 4-5 lbs... the rrm pulley is about 1 lb and made of alluminum (sp) becuase the puley is lighter it spins faster and makes the rpms break loose easier.. 1st gear is much faster with the rrm pulley installed and if yours cvt 6th gear actually has some pick up. befoere te rmm pulley my 6th gear was useless..
did you notice better throttle response also? i do have the cvt and thats good to know. i just want to make sure i get the most for the little money i do have.
Here you go. this will help explain what the problem is about. http://lancertuners.com/modules.php?nam ... ulley+leak
note that the problem is 1 in 500... RRM has sold over 500+++ pullies.. and this is only 1 case that this has happened.
has anybody heard anything from mitsu about them recalling this? i not worried so much i have allot of friends in the auto industry.
no if i recall right then there was some other people that the groove has already started showing up on the stock pulley. i think BrianRRM, Wasper, maybe some others.
oh so there's a chance that not all of us will have the problem. because my car is about a year old and i have about 5000 miles. i was thinking of taking the pulley off and looking at it, maybe putting the stock one back on.
don't mean to bash ur pulleys... but even the stock pulleys are getting that nasty groove that can lead to damaging the engine like what happened to that one guy, problem is it's made out of aluminum which is weaker and causing the groove to happen faster
