header installed

i got my header in too (gotta wait till monday 4 install). were your ports all jacked? they wernt even. i'll prolly dremmel them to try to make them even. and the bottom flange, was yours off center?

did you get your headers from RRM? and if you did then how do you know what bar code for the headers are..?

 

i believe RRM is the only company with headers so far

 

had me worried there for a little while gatz untill i read that it was your 4" muffler they pulled you over for, My header comes in this wednesday, i am planning to install it friday or monday. we will see.

 

what do you mean bar code? RRM has headers out for non Calispec lancers, although they should come out with calispec in few weeks.

i still dont get what bar code you are talking about.

if you are asking about this maybe i am wrong but i am quoting RRM from their site.

"Please note that this header does NOT fit PZEV cars.We currently offer a 4B11 header for the FED cars only. Most customers do not know if they have a FED or PZEV car. The easiest way to tell is by opening the front passenger door. On the body of the car, there is an ID plate that includes model code and color code among other things. The model codes for the 08 Lancer per the service manual are as follows;

Model Code (last 2 digits)

CY4AS****2M – FED
CY4AS****3M – Canada (Uses FED Header)
CY4AS****7M – PZEV"

 

for those that are getting the header. the bolts on the heat sheild are 12mm, fire wall heat shield 10mm, head studs are 14mm. i forgot to look what the others are. another thing the 2 bolts on the flange before the cat are a bitch.

Look at the i.d plate on the passenger door or your VIN.

 

all this talk about the header ......well how does it feel , any power gains anything ????

i am from canada and installed the rrm headers, anyone who has them notice like a fluttering sound when you floor it?, like not a bad sound but hear a different noise that wasn't there b4? and were you able to get that one bolt on thats on one of the pipes to secure it?, mine didn't line up?

My ride is loud also. I took both resinators off and have 2 1/2" pipe all the way back to my Magna flow.
