Hey all I have been using my 04 to do autocross but came to the realization that the handling is way to soft for my liking. Anybody know the best way to stiffen it up for autocross. All i have done to the suspension so far was add strut tower bars front and back other than that it is stock. Thank you for any feed back.
Hey mate, It all depends on your budget. When I had my 04 ES, I put a set of lowering springs in, a front strut tower brace (which I notice you have done) and I also added a Rear Adjustable Sway Bar. The rear sway bar and the springs made a huge difference to handling, especially body roll. I'm from Aus so its a bit hard for me to recomend products for you, but if you want I can list what I had.
Yeah let me know what you had i have been looking at the stuff from roadracemotorsports.com but haven't decided on anything yet, and as for my budget its ok. So all ideas and comments are appreciated.
try: http://stores.speedcorps.com/Categories ... Suspension I am sure they can help you out!!! I would suggest the megan coilover set up for autocross.
Megan coilovers for sure. They are the single best handling/suspension modification you can make to your car. Well worth the money
That and get rid of those nasty dunnies. I still have mine and they suck, but I found out that they are great for rallyx (cheap, they came with the car). I have heard nothing but good things about the Megan coilovers.
Thanks for all the replies I am deffinatly going to be getting the megan coilovers and antisway bars soon. Ill let everyone know how it goes and try to get some pics from the last event or get some taken at the next one.
dont forget to get lightweight wheels and good tires ( a good non expensive High performance tire is the maxxis Z1)
All right I just ordered Megan coilovers for my 04 now i just have the wait till they get here. Soon as they get here ill try to post some pics since I know you all just love pics.
Just got a phone call that the coilovers are in, I'm going to pick them up on my way home from work and ill post pics after that. Hope to have them installed this weekend.
