is it me or the paint on the lancer is pretty cheap? it seems that if you barely touch it it srathes. And recently the damn neighbors cat got on my car a couple of times and it scratched it really bad a on the top and on the side, i went to talk to the neighbor he was being a dick about it so i told him to cut the nails on his cat and he said no cause the cat needed them to protect himself and shit, im pissed ive had this car for 4 weeks now. what should i do?

    ill post pics later

claim insurance, take picutures for evidence and tell them your issue, and they will ask your neighbour to pay for the painting

I have a nice little aggressive dog. When i see other animals on my property i let him run outside and attack them. If i ever seen a cat scratch my car id use my pellet gun to its full potential :)

But as far as now, the smart way would be with what redgts said. Claim insurance and have them force ur neighbor to pay.

Unfortunately. Mitsubishi has a rep in regards to their paint. It's not the best quality.

I used to drive an Eclipse (99 GSX). 2 weeks after I picked it up, someone scratched my bumper. I took it in and had it fixed, no problem.

5 years later, the paint on my Eclipse was fading out. Bumper still looked great.

Agreed, my Honda paint lasted 13 years with minimal scratching / chipping and that was 13 years through canadian winter with salt and sand.

Yeah the paint on my lancer started to chip pretty easily so I took it to the my local dealer, where I am also friends with the shop manager, and explained to them my problem.

They said to have had numerous reports and they are going to fix my paint for free when I get the chance to take the car in. This may not work for everyone but atleast it worked for me so give it a try.\\
    GOOOD LUCK

Hate to break it to yall but almost all new cars have paint issues ranging from scions, civics, etc. It's due to new standard in paint and what is being used when painting new cars.

I frequent an 8th gen civic site and they complain about their paint constantly ... looks like we'll have to deal with it b/c they are ALL like that.

Edit: here are some more sites ...
