so i got in a fender bender a little while ago and figured that would be a good time to get the evo x front bumper and hood from bodykits.com, not quite. it took over a month to get the parts to the shop, then once i get there to look at them it is the bomber bumper and not the evo x one, have had a very hard time getting a hold of them to talk about a return (i just went with the oem from bumper), then today i go over to look at my car because they said it was almost done and the hood is very poorly fit, the guy at the body shop said how it was cheaply molded and a terrible fit. so now i don't know what to do, its hard to get in touch with someone at bodykits and should i go with a oem hood or ask for another, better made, hood from bodykits, it looks real sharp so im sad if i had to go back to stock but the one right now looks horrible since it doesnt fit well at all.
ugh just had to vent, my car has been in the shop since January
but any comments, ideas or help would be appreciated

Well i might suggest ordering a hoof from RRM, they ensure that all their products will fit and function as advertised!! I have a lot of their parts and all fit just as good as OEM if not better. I would try them first

WOW ....that is pretty badly fitted. The body shop should of installed it and found out this problem before they even painted it cause its wasting money. This is why I don't like dealing with fiberglass. Most body shops over in my area won't even touch fiberglass cause its too much work and fix the impurities

do you guys think that was just a poorly molded one and that i should be able to get a better fitting one from bodykits? i like the looks of the hood,, minus those gaps haha

All the FG ones ive seen have some sort of fitment issues so far. Sounds like the molds need to be tweeked

I've seen some other people with that hood...but the CF version.. I would think they would use the same mold as the CF version. The people that i've seen with it...it looks fine, possible u just got a bad batch.

I hope u saved the shipping box, I knoe of one company that said I couldn't get a refund/exchange cause I didn't have the original box. even though the product was poorly made and was warped.....The box was the size of my car. so I threw it out.

i got one suggestion..get a hood cover like mine...just the cover though...it might saved that hood of yours and plus it may look right with that gap...

you're only unhappy? Dude i'd be f* pissed. Me, I'd return that hood and get replacement or just go with RRM hood. The hood cover will only remind you that your covering a flawed hood that you paid good money for...er...the insurance company paid good money for...lol

maybe it's miss-shapened because of the fender bender bent the base of the car? just a thought...

When you get fiberglass its not supposed to be perfect because you can do bodywork to make it exact. CF has to be perfect so they pay more attention. Your body guy should have fitted the hood before he even painted it that is his fault and I would make him align it and re paint it. Since when has anyone bought a body kit and it was absolutly perfect.
