im planning on getting my ES after surgery recovery but im hearing alot of complaints about lancers and start up problems, im gona get my lancer no matter but im just curious as to what this means? can anyone clarify this situation?
Mine had some trouble, but it turns out it's just the FAST Key. If it's too deep in my pocket or purse, the signal doesn't quite get to where it should thus the car struggles to start. Solution: Keep the key out in the open...
Well i've been the only one that complained about the ES taking acouple seconds to start up but lately its been consistent just gotta break inyour engine *and i have a 5speed not a CVT so it takes a little longer for mine to start up then an automatic transmission.
in the 1st 1000 miles i had problems starting up my car twice, but i just gave it some gas and it started right up. and havnt had any problems since then.
yeah see its just breaking the engine in. The engine isn't broken in til about 1500 miles. I wuold suggest taking it easy for those 1500 miles if you want your engine to have a good start but i got overly excited and rode it hard acouple times. haha she'll pull through
6k miles here and I STILL have the startup problem. Like mentioned above, it is more than likely the smartkey. If it doesn't turn over the first time, and I turn the car completely off and start over it works.
so this happened to me again twice in the last week.. i called the mitsu service dept at the dealership and dude told me that there is gonna be new software out at the end of the month.. he said its not a recall yet but owners should be informed about it..... i'm not sure if anyone posted that yet, but i didnt see it anywhere and i just found out today, so i figured I'd share with u guys..
That's good to know i haven't heard of that yet. I only had starting problems once but it was -45 and i didn't plug it in
i've had start up issues ever since i bought the car in december. I have taken it to a dealership to get serviced three times. The first two said that they could not figure out the problem, the last time i went they reprogrammed something and it has helped a little, but i started it up this morning and it died. So still there, just don't know what's causing it.
when i was driving to work last week my car turned off on me while i was stopped at a traffic light. so i called the dealership and they had me bring it in for some reflash something or other.. i haven't had any problems since then. except i have a faulty weight sensor in my passenger seat. so the seat belt light is always on.
