330 miles left till empty on half tank

lol wtf?? that can't be right...i would try disconnecting the battery myself...have you done any recent mods or anything? the CAI should increase both gas efficiency and HP but i can't imagine it would influence it THAT much ya know?? usually thats what mine reads on a full tank.

 

go by the picture not by the number, have u done any highspeed drivign like on the interstate

Thats a hard one Jake no warning lights, you have the CAI but that kind of gain im not thinking its possible. I myself when i fill i fill it until its coming out the filling pipe. I usually get around 680 and 700+ on long highway drives. YOu didnt go through a dramatic climate change? from hot to cold or vise versa? Or did you put in the higher grade and hit a magic mix lol. But thats just a few other random ideas hope it gets figured out, let us know. Good luck.

 

i never go by wat it tells me. i get +/- 400 miles to the tank. and then i fill up w/ 14 gallons

Mine was doing that too when I was just driving around and not flooring it, and then the next day when I left for school it dropped to about 240. But that night my miles per gallon were around 30, and then next day it reset so I'm assuming it adjusted itself.

 

I think its because your of your MPG. Do you drive on the highway alot. If your avg mph was 78, then i would assume that you do. This happened to me when i was on the highway once I was getting like 32.5 mpg and when i was near a half tank it was telling me i was getting about 330 miles left on my tank.

 

im a little above 1/2 tank and im reading about 300+ miles on the mpg estimator. the other day i was reading only 200+ and then yesterday 300+. but in my actual driven miles, im reading about 140 ish at a little above 1/2 tank. when im on the highway ive gotten readings of up to 37mpg! im not sure if im some how cheating the mpg estimator, or if the 5speed gts is just that efficient. i only use shell or bp 87 oct. if that helps any.

 

i would kill to get that. I just got 290 on a tank and was jumping up and down but Ive only put 2k on the engine so far

 

well i think its because you were driving very economically for a while like not flooring it at all, and the car computer does its calculations based on how you've been driving for lets say the last 100 miles or so, and thats why you got this.. it happens with me sometimes when im driving a long way from home and i have my cruise control set at like 120 km/h or so, after a while it starts showing this sort of figures

 

well yea i tend to drive as leisurely as possible but, even when i do floor it, in the city/highway i avg out like 26-28/32-35 respectively. at least thats what the computer is telling me.

in the end, driving nice and easy yields me about 380+ miles on a full tank and when i fill up, its usually about 12-13 gallons. when i drive aggressivly i get about 320+. these figures are from city/highway. ive actually tried driving regular on one tank and agressive on the next.

how much miles on average is everyone getting on a full tank? if you dont mind me asking.
