why is everyone acting like an ass to this guy? he never asked if it was a good idea (even if it isn't) to put spacers on his car. he was just asking about fender flares.

Well to get back on track with this topic we all see that the evo 10 is just a wee bit wider that our lancers. So my question is, what is mitsubishi doing to cover that width. Wont they just use a different backspaced wheel? I doubt the sidth is going to be differnet from the two hats of our rotors as compared as to the two hats of the evo 10. So cant he just use the correctly backspaced wheel to fill the wheel well? If i am mistaken please elaborate.

Yeah so sorry guys, I don't take criticism well. haha. But yeah I'm not sure how they cover the width. It's probably just a wider wheel.

just use a wider wheel. For example the CE lancer.. over in aus i have seen one with a wide body which adds quite alot of width to the car to make it as wide as the evo 5/6. So they just used 10" wide on the back and 9.5" on the front and it was a perfect fit.

So... your just going to need super wide tyres.. the downside it will kill your turning ability. The extra track you will gain from having a wide kit and wide wheels probably isnt worth the massive weight gain from the massive tyres and how it will kill the turn in of the car. Probably wouldnt want to go wider than 8" if you want to keep it race practical.

Spacers are a bad idea because they put extra pressure on the hubs and bearings and in a race situation expecially it will lead to them snapping off with all the pressure they go under in a fast turn.

If you want it to be practical for racing you'd be best forgetting about making it wider. Stick some 8 inch wide wheels on there for the extra grip and move on to the rest of the car.

If you want it as a show car then get the wide body and either get massively wide tyres or get some spacers and only use them for shows and take them off for driving.
