I was driving home from best buy 2 nights ago, going about 45mph I hit this pothole must have been on steroids or something it was HUGE!!! Once i hit it i started to hear this funky sound then my display said i had low tire pressure I WAS PISSED, anyways got the road side assistence to throw on my spair tire, when i looked @ the tire my rim was bent!!! and when we got home my girl opened the door the damn door makes a cracking noice!!! what can i do, can the city be help responssible? how much are these rims IM SAD and mad :evil:
That's bad to hear, but the city to be held responsible I'm not too sure about that. If it's a situation where you were hurt, then maybe you can blame the city. But for something like that, with your car, I'm not too sure if that would be the cities fault. What would I know, lol. I live on a island.
same shit happ top me on the freeway 2 yrs ago in my previous car. rim got totally messed....city didnt do shit about it....gave me some B.S. that i was from canada and they wouldnt be able to cover it....i just gave up....had to buy another rim...
that sucks. im sorry to hear this. i don't believe your insurance will cover it. I ran over this huge wood block some years back and tried to claim "road debris". no luck. had to pay on my own. hopefully your insurance is nicer than mine was
when I bought my car I got one of the extended warranties that came with road hazard coverage that follows the vin number so even aftermarket rims are covered until I use up 5 grand in damage. im pretty stoked about that for just this crap. check with the city though and put up a fight a friend of mine got them to cover half the price of the rim and tire on his car.
well I still got my spair on my car but i got some info, our gts rim is so EXPENSIVE!!! 838 for 1 rim and about 180 for 1 tire so its gonna set me back about 1,000 for 1 rim and tire! I spoke to the city and i gotta fill this form out attach some pics of my rim and pot hole and maybe something will get done WISH ME LUCK!!! :wink:

adrian it just happen that our company work for the city and just to let you know that the city will cover the damages that happen to your vehicle as long as YOU the driver can prove it, cuz you know the city will find a way to prove you wrong. also ask your insuance what kind of coverage you have, sometimes you are covered for road hazard but they wont tell you that, they want you to figured that out in your own

i have state farm and i got full coverage but im not sure if it covers that i'll look into it if the city dont pay for it, id post the damage to my rim and tire and the pothole but my pc is down right now, been down for like 2 months :cry: . I am using the pc @ work :wink: anyways i'll get my pc up and running to post the pics! oh I can prove myself i got everything i need to yeah im gonna take it today i will let you guys know if i can win over the city!!!!
Sucks to hear. I had a nail on the worst position of the tire, the outter area and had to get a new tire, costs me about 280 since our tires are brand new.
That really bad. Well when I got my new GTS they provided me addtional insurances which includes the RIM and Tire protection. That is for additional 400 dollars they will cover any damages of your Wheels for 5 years. I opted for it because this is my first time to have an 18 inch wheels.
well after waiting for ever for the city to tell whats gonna happend. I sadly found out that the law states they are not responsible for any damage if the hole isnt reported, if the hole was reported then i messed my rim up then they would pay, that SUX BAD but i dont have to pay 800 for my rim i found this local place thats gonna fix my rim for 65 bucks so its all good
