    My GTS is my winter project. I hope to have it ready for time attack in the summer. Theres a track that is supposed to be open this summer. I'm not going all power, because we really can't right now, but rather a smarter path like lighter, better handling car. I'm looking widening the car about 5" with wider tires and wheel spacers. Does anybody know of any fender flares for the lancer. Even those bushwacker flares for trucks would be fine. Is there anything out, or soon coming? Thanks.

    Time attack? Hell yeah.

    I don't have any knowledge on the wide-body stuff but good luck anyways.

    as far as engine goes were you gonna try doing your own work or are you waiting on parts like the rest of us? haha

    I think that is the worst thing that you could possibly do. I see a lot of show cars that do this(usually trailer queens) but not performance orintated cars.
    Dont let SUBAWHO read this. LOL!

    Sorry man not trying to bash ur idea but I dont want to see you do the wrong thing. Buy the right rims, the right tire size and so on.

    If not then just enjoy your car for what it is and kick it!

    Yeah, the spacers idea isn't one of my bast haha. I'm probably just going to go with wider tires. I have a lot of testing to do. Right now its all about the frame. I'm trying to make the frame as rigid as possible and and get the suspension set up properly. The best thing you can do for this car, or any, is get that power down to the road. Hopefully I can eliminate the under-steer with the stiff frame and some sticky tires.

    my car has wheel-hop like a motherphucker.

    I don't know wether to blame the torque or the stock-tires for this car hopping in first. i have to baby it out of first.

    Yeah, I've noticed that. I don't think its because the car has too much torque :(. ha ha. Its the suspension setup. A stiffer suspension would put that power down more efficently.

    Actually I read this thread yesterday and it was beyond putting up the Picard picture...it was that bad :sad11:

    He doesnt want better handling. He wants a wide body kit and knows itll look like crap with the stock tires :lol:

    ah come on man. I wouldnt say every one-lol!

    no one is actually a loser. I can understand where ur coming from as a newbie, but dont let it discourage you. have to be able filter thru some of the crap.

    sorry little man, before you bash on "EVERYONE" on here, make sure your doing the right thing.....cuz everyone on here has alot of good ideas and have done great things to their cars. alot of us on here have some good hook ups and if you want to bash on us and talk all that crap about us being a bunch of losers, well then just leave our site and dont post anymore lame ideas.

    The smartest part of your bashing is that, the 08 lancer community is so small atm that everywere you go, you will stand out as the guy that cant stand the heat, yet loves to hang out in the kitchen.....

    think about it bro... this site, projectlancet.net, even evoM (even tho i dont like them) we all have very useful info that WILL help you.. BUT, there is a rule in EVERY forum you join: please search and do your homework before you click the "new thread" button... this will save you bashing, ownage, being called a noob, amongst others... this is an honest-non-bashing advice from a person who has had no life for the past 4 years hanging out in DSM, corvette, nissan, and now mitsubishi forums.... that would be me :)
