Hello and Welcome to another of my HOW TOs ^_^

Today we will be changing the Reverse lights...

*** the reverse lights are two (2) model: 7440 ***

AUTOMOGLOW can hook you up with them

*****note: i went with LEDs... the LEDs are a higher color temperature than regular filament bulbs, therefore it will look completely different... in my case, the first time i backed up i could barely tell because my eyes were used to the color temperature of the regulare bulb... this WILL make a difference, specially if you have been using regular filament bulbs for many years to back up and all of a sudden you switch to LEDs... it is to your own judgement and desicion and i am NOT responsible by any means of your actions, money spent, or accidents caused by this mod*****

with that said....... lets move on :)

    1) first of all, this mod doesnt require to dismount your lights... this is a very easy mod and should take less than 10 minutes..... so go ahead and open your trunk........

"HOLY CRAP, WHAT A MESS!!!!!!" yea i know..... i didnt have time to "clean it up for the pictures" :D

    2) CARFULLY, remove the little "holders" (i dont know the name of the lil caps)...

The back of the lamp will be exposed after you lift CARFULLY the grey cover.. like this:

the big white connector is your revers light.....

    3) Twist that white connector counter clock wise... it will only twist a lil bit... dont think you are changing the bulb from your living room and try to twist the hell out of it

    4) after it twists a click, pull it out gently... now ONLY PULL THE BULB OUT, not the whole housing (like Autobot  )

    5) After this is done, plug your new bulb back in... if you go for LEDs like me, you have to pay attention to the positioning of the bulb... trial and error is the way to go.. if it doesnt work, flip it around...

    6) after the new bulb is in position, screw the housing back to the lamp and twist it clockwise... again, this is just a click...

    7) after that, do the same thing for the other side and you are done :)

like i said over at PL... usually there is a clip at the other side of the 2 screws.. usually just pulling it hard is enough.... because these are double filament, i didnt touch them... i only did the reverse lights

i know i'm kinda necro-threading... but i was wondering, what color are those? white or blue? cuz i know some bulbs white ends up looking like blue, and well, urs looks blue :p... same question goes for the license plate... and what u have for HIDs... 6k 8k? =)... just trying to get an ideas of the colors

    HID: 10,000k
LEDs are white... usually consumer cameras have auto white balance and white light ends up being a bit blueish... they are pure white...
