All I am asking is would this be good and is it like most of the Injen mufflers that I've seen on here expect without the carbon fiber? Injen High Performance Mufflers (Universal Muffler for 2 3/8" Piping) Part #SES225C $167 , free shipping. Once, ordered would I just go to Pep-Boys or AutoZone and they can install piping. The exhaust:
well the injen stuff always has good build quality.. they have an amazing finish.. just look at how smooth that welding is. Any exhaust place should be able to weld up some piping to get it on your car. Not sure about the performance side of things with them.. i'd asume it would be good since thats what the brand focuses on but i have never actually had one so i cant say, always had magnaflow or lukey stuff in the past because i have always gone for an oval shaped muffler for sound reasons.
I would go for the buy.... A friend of mine who owns one of the older models of the lancer, has that exact muffler installed... If not mistaken, you checked that off of ebay right?.... Well on my friends car, it sounds great... Not ricey at all... deep tone... sounds exactly like the one on the video off of youtube (the dude with the HKS hi-powered catback) and performance wise, i'm not too sure... but I know injen will not disappoint you.
yeah my friend has and injen one like that one it has a nice deep tone i actually got one from my friends shop with c/f around it sounds great very deep tone i love it no problems with it so im satisfied
anything is better than this ugly thing: In most cars just changing the muffler probably did nothing (performance wise) but only gave it a tone. in this car's case with it's ugly-ass flow-restricting tub-of-a-muffler....i'd say a muffler welded properly might even help the damn thing flow better.
yeah its definately worth the buy, i bought the injen universal muffler 225tt, and its beatiful, and has a great sound
Well, I did an online search for my area for performance shops. I stopped by a shop that I found in CT where they sell performance parts for imports. I talked to the guy about universal mufflers and asked if they did the pipe work there... he said no, but he had a guy down the road at monroe mufflers that does all his work. I personally wouldnt think to bring my car to a chain store like that, but the guy at this shop said the dude does great welding and bending. So, basically, I would ask around... do a search online for performance shops.. and call them, if they dont do it in house, ask where they do thier set-ups or if they could recommend a good muffler shop. I bet youll get alot of good suggestions that way.
yeah the guy that did mine he did a pretty good job i was thiking twice about it but when i got a better look at that uly thing we had i was all for it.... he was even shocked when he seen it hah but like everyone said anything is better than what we had
Now this exhaust is the N1 muffler which a follow lancer already has if I'm not mistaken. Should I get that or this N1 muffler? ^ I already have. The PepBoys right next to me does it for $64.00. I could also get this one with install from PepBoys and I can pay online with my credit card.
i say you do it they are good name brand and a lot of my friends have injen and there happy with what they got mine isnt a name brand but to me it sounds good i was willing to give it a chance hah so im sure you have no problem with injen
^ Alright Duke, I will. Once ordered and get the money situation out of the way, I'll go to PepBoys and tell him "I want this on there, now make it happen." Now once this happens and hopefully very shortly once installed I will take pics w/bro's camera and do a sound clip w/the help of my bro since I really can't do that.
hah yeah thats why i havent taking a video or sound clip of mine to lazy and its to cold up here hah but good luck you'll be satisfied
oo man i bought mine at my friends shop i was looking at a volt one with c/f around it but he had one that looked exactly the same and a whole lot cheaper even had c/f around it to so i trusted him and bought that one and it sounds awesome he welded it too but its not to deep or to raicy to...im not much of a exhaust guy but i needed something better than that thing i had on there so i got that one i also didnt want the honda or all those other cars tone that sound like crap but this is just the right enough tone so im happy the reason i know about the injen ones my two friends have some and no complaints =)
