A couple days ago I traded in (up) from a black 2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ to a white 2012 Lancer GT with the CVT transmission, GT touring package, navigation with rear-view camera and … the chrome package. It was the only white GT here around this area with the GT touring package so I had no other choice and ended up with the chrome package which I think looks tacky. So first thing I want to do is get rid of the chrome door handles and the chrome side view mirror covers. Next thing is lowering the car and get some black 18 inch wheels. Does anyone know if it will damage the paint if I'm trying to take off the chrome door handles? And I guess the side view mirror covers are replacing the body color ones so it's not just a cover. I will have to get them vinyl wrapped or painted. Here are some pictures I've taken at the dealership that day.
Welcome! I was reading your post and as soon as I saw "chrome package" I said out loud in my office "WTF!!" After getting weird looks from everyone I continued to read ... lol. Also, to be honest I didn't even know what a Chevy Sonic was. Looked it up ... that was most def. an upgrade. Once again ... welcome to the club.
man, i'm in the same situation. all of the gt's they had at the dealership i went to had the chrome package. theyre charging 80 per side for white mirror covers. the door handles arent hard to take off, i carefully pulled mine off on a warm day and clay barred the residue left behind haha. try suggest sawing it off with some fishing line when you do it.
Very nice, man. I'm jealous of your navi, Fosgate, and sunroof. But you're right, that chrome package has got to go haha.
