A good tune doesn't require a chip. Just saying.

nah but just so you know. i drive a 2010 honda civic si and i dont drive a lancer therefore im just speaking on experience from my own ride. We have a chip that is so well developed that its better for our cars. thought mitsu would have one of these

Basically you have two alternatives: goto to rrm or go and get your ecu flash tuned. I personally don't like splicing my ecu wires like rrm does but there product is proven to work. their product is a base tune where as you can get a real tune through the obd 2 port and not splice any wires and the tune be exact for about the same price. But truthfully I would get as many bolt ons as you want then maximize the tune to its fullest potential.

jogenmaru got a point, I am going with WORKS ecu/ecm flash since i am only 1 hour drive from their HQ I can drive my car there get it flash and have my car ready all in the same day. the problem with flash is you have to have it flash everytime you add in a mod or make some kind of changes to the cars performance. so if your going with flash you might want to get all the bolts on first then flash it at the end to get the full performance and save some cash because each time you flash cost money, not unless your going to tune it yourself though obd 2 port, if you have never done then good luck you will need it.

For RRM, i saw a rrm piggy install before too on my bro 09 suzuki sx4 a year back, 1 of those most longest and complicated install i ever seen. there was 4 or 5 wires that you have to cut and reconnect. it was so difficult to do that he have to call in 2 of his friends to help him do the install. I remember they had to make a hole a little bigger so they can slide a wire through, 1 of them accidently cut off a different wire which they solder back together. the whole process total almost 2 hours i think, that also include 1 of his friend unsuccessfully trying to remove the dash board which i have no idea why. then they have to ziptie it to the side of the car. and the instruction says you have to drive the car for a certain amount of distance with out shutting the car off for the piggy to fully work, and i think the distance of 20-30 miles don't really remember. I remember my bro driving it to another county and back so that was about 50 miles back and front. A few days later my bro try to take the car in to do a smog test to see if it can also pass smog too, a weird thing came up saying he can't do smog cause his traction control is off and he can't do the smog with out it. I am not sure if the rrm piggyback turned off the traction control for the car or it could be something else they did wrong during the install. They also give you a software cd to reprogram the piggyback, but for some reason my bro friend cannot get the piggyback to save the new configuration, each time they save it and replug it back in to make changes again they just keep seeing the default settings which was odd. The car went from a kitten to a beast with that chip, i actually got the car out of 3rd gear 1 time too just to see can it do it.
