I have a 2010 Lancer ES and was looking to give it the deep tone. I was thinking of putting in it a GReddy Ti-C Axelback system, but am not looking forward to the $440 price. Any suggestions as to what I should get for the nice sound but lower price?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, if you are looking for that deep tone the only real company I know is magnaflow. I can keep searching for you but that's all I can think of right now.

When I was looking at different exhaust I saw some magnaflows too, and they're a really good. I was watching some videos on youtube with their lancers and exhausts and magnaflow and GReddy sounded the best to me. But my thing was I don't want the full cat-back system (not yet anyways) and I know the GReddy is just an axelback system, which is very easy to install. But if magnaflow has something like that, I'd definitely look into it. And I appreciate the help.

If you're looking for something like the "Evo growl", you won't have much luck without going turbo. The turbo completely changes the exhaust note of the lancer. I wanted that too for mine, but nothing. I ended up having a custom 2.5" cat-back made at a local shop here. I think it ran me about 80 bucks, not including the muffler that I already had. You may be able to find a "Ti-C style" or an "N-1 style" muffler and go the custom route like I did for around 100-150 bucks. It all depends on where you live and what people want to charge you that day...

Yeah unfortunately I figured it wouldn't sound the same. So you're saying that I could just find a GReddy muffler or something, not the whole system itself? Any recommendations for a particular brand? Also do you think I would need a 3.5"? Luckily theres a guy here where I live that is very reasonable with installation prices. And thanks very much for the help

You will never use a 3.5" exhaust. Thats overkill. 2.5 or 2.75 max. High power evos have 3" exhaust.

What this man says. The biggest I would go is 2.25" for the 2.0L and 2.5" for a 2.4L. I had 3" back for a while, and it KILLED mileage....and it seemed to lose some low-end power. As for the brand...Go with something you think looks good, and you can afford. There is a difference in sound among the different brands....a lot of times, a cheaper brand muffler (alphaWerks, Tsudo, Vibrant, etc) will sound better than a high-dollar muffler (Greddy, HKS, etc.)

just watch urself going with no muffler some states that illegal and can land you a ticket also watch how loud the exhaust is. given the fact that too much noise can be illegal as well

Depends on where you're at about the noise factor. Down here, I'm pretty sure they don't care how loud your stuff is. I used to think mine was somewhat loud, but they got trucks rolling around with their exhaust coming off the headers and that's it. And nothing seems to happen.
